TiVo Inc. today released the TiVo Premiere Elite set-top box. Designed for home theater enthusiasts, the TiVo Premiere Elite provides four digital tuners, a 2TB hard disk drive and THX certification for optimal sound and video fidelity. Four digital tuners allows you to record four different TV shows simultaneously, while a 2TB HDD is able to record up to 300-hour of recorded HD programming. TiVo has rolled out its Online Season Pass Manager, which allows subscribers to transfer season pass subscriptions between their various TiVo boxes, as well as adding new passes and deleting old ones. This tool enhances TiVo’s already robust Web features, allowing TiVo customers to easily manage and transfer their Season Pass recordings online. This new feature joins TiVo’s online scheduling functionality on tivo.com for browsers and m.tivo.com for mobile devices, both of which allow users to schedule recordings from anywhere they have access to the Internet. TiVo has rolled out the QWERTY TiVo Slide Remote that features a finger-friendly slideout keyboard allowing faster and easier text entry for Search, YouTube, RSS and more. The remote also offers a more powerful signal thanks to the built-in Bluetooth and provides increased range and strength to accommodate clutter-free setups inside cabinets. What’s more, there is also a light sensor that automatically activates glow feature on backlit keys and keyboard, so you never have to turn on a light. TiVo has launched a brand new premium DVR at this year’s CEDIA show. TiVo® HD XL Digital Video Recorder comes with a huge 1 TB hard drive, capable of storing 150 hours of high definition television. It also features an eSATA port on the back to add an extra 60 hours of HD recording with external drives. Another cool thing is that you will be able to download recorded shows to Mac using the TiVo Transfer program in Roxio’s Toast 9 Titanium and use H.264 compression to convert the recording into smaller files viewable with iPod or iPhones.
