Toshiba Dynario Fuel Cell

Toshiba will release their first Toshiba Dynario Fuel Cell in Japan on October 29th, 2009. The first run consists of only 3,000 units after which Toshiba will gauge consumer reaction before extending the launch outside of Japan. Once fueled with an injection of methanol solution from its dedicated cartridge, the fuel cell starts to generate electricity that is delivered to a mobile phone or a portable media player via a USB cable. Dynario’s hybrid structure uses a lithium-ion battery to store enough electricity to charge two typical cell phones simultaneously. Each Toshiba Dynario Fuel Cell retails for 29800 Yen ($328), while each set of liquid refilling cartridges (5 units) is priced at 3150 Yen ($34). [Gizmodo]

Toshiba Unveils The First Cell-Powered Regza LCD TV

Toshiba has unveiled its first cell-powered LCD TV ‘Cell Regza 55X1′ for the Japanese market. This new 55-inch widescreen TV uses the same Cell Technology as found in the Sony PS3 for delivering outstanding picture quality. It also offers a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 240Hz scanning, 1,250 cd/m2 brightness, 5,000,000 contrast ratio, an internet browser made by Opera Software, DLNA support, a 7-speaker sound bar, an SD card slot, HDMI and USB ports and a tuner box that includes a 3TB of storage space, with 2TB of that is dedicated to time-shift recording (recording up to 26 hours of programs for up to eight channels). Toshiba Journe Touch Released

Toshiba today rolled out its Journe Touch multimedia touchscreen Mobile Internet Device. Dubbed as the “Ultimate Home Media Tablet”, the gadget comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display, which is large enough for viewing videos or pictures, and also works great for browsing the Web on the go via its built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. The Journe Touch also provides HDMI connectivity through an optional cradle that enables stored content to be viewed on any HD-ready TV. It is powered by Windows CE 6.0 operating system, and comes with an SDHC memory card slot for expansion purposes. No word on pricing or availability so far. [Press Release]

Toshiba's 640GB 2.5-inch HDD

Toshiba Japan has recently announced their latest 2.5-inch HDD in 640GB capacity, which is the highest in its class. Measuring at only 9.5mm thick and weighing 102grams, the MK6465GSX is also available in 160, 250, 320 and 500GB storage capacities. The 640GB model has an 8MB buffer and rotates at 5,400rpm. The drive also features 12msec seek time and a buffer-to-computer interface with a speed of 3.0 Gbit/s. Toshiba will release the first samples of their new HDD starting in about two weeks. World's First SDXC Memory Card From Toshiba

Toshiba today introduced the world’s first 64GB SDXC memory card with the world’s fastest data transfer rate. Latest Toshiba's Satellite A500 With a 16:9 Wide HD Display

Toshiba today announced the availability of the Satellite A500 laptop that comes equipped with a wide HD LCD display. The multimedia notebook PC comes with a 16-inch HD Toshiba TruBrite display with 16:9 aspect ratio that offers a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and a 200 cd/m² brightness level. The high-end laptop also features a built-in TV-Tuner to receive analogue and digital TV channels over DVB-T, an HD webcam, and high-end Harman Kardon stereo speakers. What makes the Satellite A500 more special is that it can be operated with a remote control thanks to the REGZA-Link, a HDMI CEC(High-Definition Multimedia Interface Consumer Electronics Control) interface. Toshiba Wi-Fi Photo Frames Unveiled

Toshiba today introduced three wireless digital photo frames that deliver real-time information through Toshiba’s partnership with FrameChannel, such as personalized weather, traffic, sports scores, music and video. With a FrameChannel account, you can also upload images or link favorite photos, music and videos from popular sites like Flickr, Photobucket, and Facebook. The 8-inch model is available in white (DMF82XWU) and black (DMF82XKU) for $179.99. Meanwhile, the black 10-inch frame (DMF102XKU) will retail for $229.99.
