
Toshiba’s MKxx29GSG is a 1.8 inch hard drive that offers 250GB of storage capacity and spins at 5,400rpm. Measuring at only 8mm thin, this 3Gbps SATA hard drive targets netbooks or laptops. I am sure we will see the thinner netbooks or laptops in the near future, because this super thin hard drive will be mass produced from November 2008 onwards. [Impress]

Check out Toshiba’s latest approach in making portable multi-media devices, this time with its new JournE M400. This new device comes with a music player, video platform, photo viewer and built-in a DVB-T Tuner for easy access to TV programs without having to sit in front of a television set. The 4.3 inch, anti-glare TFT-LCD screen is designed to handle outdoor viewing , making it easier to watch content outdoors. The JournE M400 has a micro SD card slot and Toshiba will bundle a 1GB micro SD card with a SD card-adaptor for customer to add extra memory. Toshiba will release not one but five full HD LCD TVs to the market known as the Regza ZH7000, Z7000, FH7000, H7000 and C7000. The Toshiba Regza ZH7000 Series wil be available in November 2008 and will come in 42inch, 46inch and 52inch sizes. The LCD screen sports Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080), 300GB hard drive, Digital TV tuner, four HDMI inputs and built-in 2 x 10w speakers. The Toshiba TLP-X100U portable projector is perfect for use in the school or office. The projector utilities 3LCD technology, Quick Power Shutdown, Digital Zoom and Automatic Vertical Keystone Correction. It also offers a blackboard function that enables the projector to correct the colors of the image automatically to compensate for a blue, black, brown or green background. Toshiba is offering SD Multi Tool and the SD Photo Editor hand-helds with touchable LCD. The SD Multi Tool features dual 3.5-inch touchable (finger or stylus) LCDs, rated at 960 x 480, wireless connectivity, web-browsing capable, and HDMI out. It is excellent for videos or photo editing. The SD Photo Editor features 5-inch WVGA screen with 16 million colors, and is equipped with dual SD card slots, while the Multi Tool just has one microSD slot. On Monday, Toshiba released a new DVD player that improved the look of DVDs on high-definition TVs better than previous models. Earlier this year, Toshiba losed the battle with Sony Corp. with their Blu-ray disc, over Toshiba’s HD-DVD. Toshiba has stopped making HD DVD players. The XD-E500 is launched to cover the still largest market of regular DVD supporter. The XD-E500 not only upconverts standard DVD to 1080p resolution, but also enhances your viewing experience thanks to three user selectable modes: Sharp for added edge detail, Color for richer blues and greens, and Contrast for enhancement of details in darker scenes. The XD-E500 will sell for MSRP of $149.99, twice the regular up-converting players, but it is less than half the price of a Blu-ray player. [Toshiba]

Toshiba has launched three new external HDDs that can fit in the palm of your hand. Available in three colors, each corresponds different storage capacity. Gecko green for 160 GB, Hot rod red for 250 GB and Carbon Grey for 320 GB. The drives are also equipped with internal shock sensor so you don’t have to worry about everyday wear and tear. As for the price, the only one available for now is the Gecko Green 160GB for $110, others are yet to come. [OfficeDepot]

The Toshiba Qosmio WXW/79GW gaming laptop comes jam packed with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2GB of DDR3 memory. The laptop also comes with a 64GB SSD drive with a 160GB 7200 SATA hard drive. Other features include a 17 inch WSXGA+ (1,680×1,050), IGB of GeForce 9800M GTX graphics card, a 1.3MP camera, 4 in 1 card reader, HDMI out, USB, Firewire, WLAN, and a DVD super drive. What makes this gaming monster cool is that it comes with a flame design skin. Toshiba will be releasing a new laptop called the G55 next month for $1,550. The G55 features an 18.4-inch (1680 x 945) display, Centrino 2 CPU, GeForce 9600M GT, 4GB of RAM, dual drives, and the “Quad Core HD processor†powering many media functions including the camera-based visual gesture control system. The visual gesture system enables users to use their hands to communicate any number of functions for the laptop. So if miming is your thing, you may want to consider this laptop.
