The TAXAN MeoTune is a WiFi-enabled 1-Seg TV tuner for iOS devices and Android smartphones. The portable TV tuner receives local TV channels through regular airwaves, and then transfers the content to smartphones via a WiFi connectivity. Elgato is back with its latest gadget in the form of the Tivizen mobile TV tuner for iOS, Mac, and Windows. Powered by a rechargeable battery, the Tivizen is a compact TV tuner than receives Freeview, or DVB-T signals, then transmits the signal to an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch using its own local Wi-Fi network and a free companion app. This gadget also has the ability to timeshift/ record shows and transfer TV recordings from an iOS device to a computer for archiving or later viewing. Hauppauge today launched the PCTV Broadway 2T. The gadget is capable of streaming TV to any iOS-powered device, Mac or PC without the need for a 3rd party app. The Broadway 2T requires no computer to work, where it will hook up to your wired or Wi-Fi network, carrying a couple of dual DVB-T tuners in the process to enable streaming.
