Emtec’s gdium EM-PC mini laptop is one of the Asus Eee PC competitors. However, this laptop features larger display screen. The desktop replacement has 8.9inch 1,024 x 600 resolution LCD screen, flash-based storage, a webcam, and a Linux OS. The HP2133 MiNi notebook is now available in Korea. The laptop features a 8.9-inch diagonal WXGA display, full QWERTY keyboard and anodized aluminum shell. Weighing 1.19kg, this portable gadget also supports 802.11a/b/g wireless technology, a clear coating applied over the notebook keyboard, and HP 3D DriveGuard which sends a signal to shut down the hard drive upon sudden movement or shock. The new KL-PC701 is another Asus Eee-PC competitor. The UMPC comes equipped with a 7 inch true color screen at 800 x 480 resolution, XBurst 400 Mhz 32-bit processor, Linux 2.4 operating system, 10M/100M Ethernet connectivity, Wi-Fi connectivity, 128MB of RAM, 512MB NAND flash memory, SD memory card slot and a USB 2.0 port. It seems that Asus Taiwan will be released the new Eee PC 901 UMPC. The company adds in a new row of buttons between the keyboard and battery and a power plug on the left side. The price tag and specifications of the Gigabyte M528 Mobile Internet Device (MID) has been unveiled. Measuring 6 inch x 3.2 inch x 0.9 inch, the gadget comes equipped with a slide out 47 key back lit keyboard, a 800MHz Intel Atom processor, 512MB RAM, 4 or 8GB SSD, HSDPA 3G wireless module, and a 3060MAh battery which should give at least a 4hours of battery life. MSI today announced the price tag of its new Wind ultra portable laptop. This Eee PC competitor is priced at $399. FYI, the UMPC runs on Novell SUSE Linux operating system and features 512MB RAM, a 80GB hard drive. Meanwhile, the 1GB RAM and Windows XP version retails for $549. Good news for those who lived in the States. Asustek has decided to release the Eee PC 900 in the US on May 12th, 2008. Priced at $549.99, the 8.9-inch UMPC will be available in two variants. The first model is powered by Windows XP with 12GB of storage, 4GB of Flash memory and an 8GB SSD. Good news for Eee PC lovers because ASUSTek has recently added three new colors to its Eee PC 4G-X. The new colors are Sky Blue, Rush Green, and Brush Pink.
