
Asus has finally updated its famous Eee PC with a 32GB SSD. The new upgraded Eee PC features 2GB RAM, Intel Wi-Fi A/B/G/N upgraded card, 7 inch LCD with touch screen with 1,024 x 768 resolution, Air Play installed, Custom copper heatsink, Bluetooth connectivity and Webcam. I guess you are bored with the Eee PC competitor news. But here is a new Eee-PC competitor which is powered with a new Atom CPU. The Akoya Mini from Medion is a 10 inch small notebook which is powered by Intel’s Atom processor, on-board Linux, 1GB RAM, two USB 2.0 ports, a memory card slot, VGA out, and a 1.3MP webcam. 3K computers has recently released a new Asus Eee-PC competitor. Dubbed as the 3K Longitude 400, this laptop is weaker than its competitor. The gadget is powered by a 7 inch 800×480 display, 400 Mhz CPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB of storage, Wi-Fi, Wired Ethernet and three USB 2.0 ports. No word on pricjg so far. BenQ will be releasing a new UMPC called the mid. The mid features an Intel Atom processor (the base 800MHz model), 512MB of RAM, a 4GB SSD hard drive, HSPDA support along with wifi and bluetooth. The UMPC will also feature a “G-Senser†for “direct touch and free movement to surf on internet,†voice activation, and optional GPS. Sharp and Willcom have collaborated to release the Willcom D4 or WSO16H Ultra Mobile PC. Weighing at only 470grams and measuring 84mm x 188mm x25.9mm, the UMPC features with 1Gb of RAM, 40GB of HDD, a Centrino Atom Z520 (1.33GHz), a 5 inch Touch screen (1024×600) LCD with LED Backlight, Wifi B/G and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR. Are you bored of your old UMPC that has no optical drive? Singapore-based Kohjinsha has introduced the SR8KPO6S UMPC that comes equipped with a DVD writer. Measuring 9.2 inch x 7 inch x 1.3 inch and weighing 2.4lbs, the “SR8KPO6S” tablet PC features a 7 inch touchscreen display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, a 1.3MP camera, and a 60GB hard drive, WiFi G, and Bluetooth. Its battery lasts for up to 3.5hrs to 7hrs (extended battery). The burner can be disabled to save power. Kohjinsha did not release pricing or availability information so far. Hewlett-Packard has officially released the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC, 8.9-inch ultraportable laptop. Priced at around $500, this Asus Eee-PC competitor comes jam packed with VIA C7-M ULV processor (1GHz to 1.6GHz), Chrome 9 integrated graphics, and supports up to 2GB of DDR2 667MHz main memory. Other features include a 8.9″ 1280 x 768 LCD display, and up to 160GB of hard drive storage. There is an optional 64GB solid-state drive or 4GB Flash drive, an optional web camera, built-in stereo speakers and microphones, the Broadcom 802.11a/b/g or b/g wireless module, optional Bluetooth 2.0, a Gigabit Ethernet connection, two USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, Secure Digital (SD) slot, and a VGA output. Its battery provides up to 2 hours and 15 minutes of battery life with the standard 3-cell battery, and 4 hours and 11 minutes with the 6-cell extended life battery. This Asus Eee-PC competitor features 1.2GHz/1.6GHz VIA C7-M processor, VIA Chrome 9 graphics chipset, 8.9inch display with 1,280 x 768 resolution, 120GB/160GB hard drive, 1GB/2GB DDR2 RAM, Windows Vista Home Basic/Business/SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Gigabyte has showed off its new M704 UMPC during CeBIT 2008. The specifications are include 7 inch LCD display(1,024 x 600 resolution), a slide out keyboard, VIA Esther ULV C7-M 1.2GHz processor, 40/60GB hard drive, a 1.3MP webcam, WiFi connectivity and an SD memory card slot.
