
For those who like the small gadget, here is a new UMPC from Gigabyte. The M700 comes equipped with a 7 inch touchscreen display (1024×600), 1.2Ghz C7-M Via processor, 2GB RAM, and 40GB to 60GB of hard drive. Panasonic has decided to release the Toughbook, which is the company’s first UMPC with the Intel Atom processor. The gadget is a water and dust resistant and comes with a 5.6 inch touchscreen display. No word on pricing so far. [Akihabara via Laptop Blog]

JKK Mobile has unveiled a short video of the Asus Eee PC 900 with the larger size and increased resolution (1024 x 600) on the 8.9-inch screen. Cuso is attempting to drop a wannabe “UMPC” known as the S600. It supports MP3, WMA, ASF, WAV, OGG, AAC, APE, AVI, WMV, DIVX, H.264, ASF, and 3GP files and various Windows CE-powered document formats (TXT, DOC, XLS, PDF, PPT, PPS), comes with a 266MHz ARM CPU, 1GB or 4GB of flash memory, 802.11b Wi-Fi, and miniSD support. Intel has announced the Intel Atom processors that will be targeted for mobile Internet devices (MIDs), and UMPCs. Dubbed as the “Atom” and “Centrino Atom”, the processors come equipped with integrated graphics, a wireless radio, and thinner and lighter designs. Asus is clever enough to release Eee PC accessories since it is a best seller UMPC in many countries. One of these accessories is the Ai Guru U1 VoIP phone that allows you to chat with friends via IM programs, while it acts as a pair of headphones. The next one is the Eee AP, which is a functional 802.11g wireless access point. Meanwhile, the USB “3.5G HSDPA Card” offers you up to 3.6Mbps download speeds with GSM900/1800/1900 and WCDMA2100/1900/850 bands. And the last one is the slim DVD-RW drive. Sungjut is launching a new UMPC in Korea called the TangoX. It has a CPU C7-M ULV at 1.2GHz, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 40 or 80GB of HDD, HD Audio, a 7†WVGA (800×480) touch screen, a 4 in 1 card reader, ethernet port and Wi-Fi ABG, USB 2.0 (2 port), DVI, and internal Skype/VoIP phone. Korea will be launching a new UMPC from WIBrain called the B1L. It features a Ubuntu Linux system with a 1GHz CPU and a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution 4.8-inch LCD display and an option for Windows XP installation. Seen at the CES, Asus has dropped another stylish UMPC. It’s called the R50A and comes with specs like a integrated GPS with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity and has a 1 GB memory, 5.6-in touch screen with a 1024×600 resolution. Price, additional specs, and release dates are unavailable.

Talk about cheap laptops! Everex, has announced the newest member of their UMPC family. The CE1200V UMPC comes with basic features and more that most other laptops might not have. Specs include a 1.2GHz Via C7-M ULV mobile processor, 512MB of DDR2 533MHz memory, a 7-inch WVGA TFT display with a resolution of 800 x 480, VIA UniChrome Pro IGP graphics, VIA High-Definition Audio, and WiFi in its 802.11b and g flavors. Other features include a touchpad, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a DVI port, 4-in-1 media card reader, headphone/microphone ports, and a set of built-in stereo speakers. It runs off a 4-cell L-ion battery and has 5 hours of battery life. Get yours January 25th for $399 at Walmart.
