
Conspin has merged an Android tablet with a universal remote to create a smart universal remote. Known as the Andi-One, the remote supports 3 different interfaces such as RF (RF4CE), IR, and WiFi. URC has rolled out the first universal remote control with haptic feedback. Dubbed as the URC MX-5000, the remote boasts a 2.7-inch touchscreen that provides a “‘very satisfying sensation” when you press one of the onscreen buttons. The URC MX-5000 also supports WiFi, narrowband RF and IR, an included base station to accommodate various IR and RS-232 components, and a built-in rechargeable battery with its charging base. The Xsight Touch is a new universal remote control in the market today that features a database of more than 3,300 unique brands and 285,000 individual codes. All you need to do is point and press the button to select a genre and brand of product. Its touchscreen display and a slider bar will make navigation easier. Universal Remote Control has recently announced their budget model MX-450. It uses MacroEdit that requires no PC or Internet connection and allows an installer to program and tweak macro commands right on the screen of the remote. The cool-looking 2-inch LCD color display of 176 x 220 pixels has LED backlighting so you have no problem reading in the complete darkness while watching movies. You can have up to 18 devices programmed and customized on three main pages. It and can be connected either by IR or RF.
