Minebea Cool Leaf

Minebea Co. Ltd. has joined with Kazuo Kawasaki, professor at Osaka University to develop a new flat and shiny PC keyboard. Known as the “Cool Leaf”, this input device is covered with a transparent acrylic board. The “Cool Leaf” adopts Toray Industries Inc’s half mirror-type film made with a new material, a capacitive touch panel and a light guide plate-type backlight. When the power is off, the surface is like a mirror. But, when the surface is touched to turn on the power, it shows letters and numbers. There is no info on pricing at this time, so stay tuned.
