Medion has entered the rugged pocket camcorder market by releasing the Medion S47000 pocket camcorder. As a competitor to the Flip Ultra HD and the Creative Vado HD, this portable camcorder is able to record 720p quality MOV files that can be previewed on its 2-inch LCD display. The Medion S47000 has a 90MB of internal memory, USB and HDMI connections, and an SDHC card slot for storage expansion. Canon USA has introduced a new flagship model to its 2009 VIXIA high-definition camcorder line, the VIXIA HF S11 Dual Flash Memory camcorder. The camcorder features a Genuine Canon HD Video Lens, Canon designed and manufactured 8.59-megapixel Full HD CMOS Image Sensor and Canon DIGIC DV III Image Processor, all of which allow the camcorder to produce breathtaking video and stunning 8.0MP photos. It also features Genuine Canon Face Detection, Instant AutoFocus, and the ability to record in 24p Cinema Mode or 30p Progressive Mode. Kodak will release the new Zi8 HD ultra-portable camcorder in September 2009. As a successor to the Zi6 and the Zx1, the new Zi8 comes with a larger 2.5-inch LCD, a face recognition, an image stabilization, and a 1080p HD recording. Users can also upload pictures directly to YouTube and Facebook. In addition, the camcorder has a flip-out USB arm for connection to a computer. JVC/Victor has launched two new HD video recorders that can record two programs simultaneously. It features storage capacities of 250GB for the DR-HX250 and 500 GB for the DR-HX500.
