The Kibo 2.0 has debuted at the Robot World 2011 in South Korea. Measuring 120cm tall and weighing 48kg, this robot has a similar design to the Asimo robot from Honda. The Rotundus GroundBot is a remote-controlled spy robot that has the ability to go offroad in snow, mud, sand and water. The robot features a pair of cameras that produce images in 3D quality. What’s more, the spy robot has a maximum speed of only 6mph. The Rotundus GroundBot can be used for urban mapping, remote terrain exploration, and post-disaster search and rescue operations. Sharp has demonstrated the world’s first 8K4K display at the IFA 2011 in Berlin. This 85-inch display has a resolution of 7680 x 4320, which is 4 times more than what we get with our current HD standard – 1080p. The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) has unveiled a completely new version of ETRO social robot from South Korea. The new robot responds to people nearby with simple phrases and changing facial expressions (through its RGB LED array). This version features more complex arms than its predecessor, as well as an omnidirectional mobile base, ultrasonic sensors, and PSD sensors. The robot has a single camera located on its chest. It contains embedded boards built specifically for image recognition, speech recognition, and speech synthesis, commissioned from a supplier called WithRobot. Watch the video after the jump. Dell has unveiled a new ultra slim LED monitor, which is designed for home or business use. Known as the Dell S2330MX, the 23-inch monitor features the LED backlighting technology, a 1920×1080 pixel resolution, a 2ms response time, D-Sub and DVI inputs. Here is the first teaser video of the Sony S1 tablet. The tablet features a 9.4-inch display with both front- and rear-facing cameras and a curved wrap design that resembles a folded magazine.
