ViewSonic has recently updated its range of LCD monitors with the release of the ViewSonic N2201W LCD monitor. It is actually a 22 inch widescreen LCD monitor with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The monitor also features a built-in DVD player and supports 1,650 x 1,050 resolution, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits brightness, 5ms response time, HDCP compliant, and supports ASTC, QAM, NTSC integrated tuner. Viewsonic unveiled four new monitors which are priced below $300. These LCD screens are the 19″ VA1926w, 20″ VA2026w, and the 22″ (21.6″ viewable) VA2226w in the new widescreen line, with only one monitor announced in the traditional 4:3 format (the VA926 19″ monitor). These new Viewsonic’s monitors offer a 2000:1 contrast ratio, Dynamic Contrast to adjust black levels based on screen content, 300 nits of brightness, 5ms response time and support both traditional VGA connections and DVI.

Viewsonic’s VX2255 LCD display now comes clad in Swarovski crystals. Viewsonic has partnered with G Mask International to customize the monitor to your liking. The screen features a 22-inch screen size, 1680 x 1050 resolution, 5ms response time, and 1,000:1 contrast ratio, along with an integrated 1.3MP webcam, speakers, and microphone. No word on what it’ll cost, but people in Singapore will be able to check the LCD display out first hand at the Comex Show this month.

The Viewsonic VG2230wm is probably the best 22 inch LCD screen I’ve seen so far. With a 1680×1050 resolution, 700:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, 280cd/m2 brightness, and 2W x 2 speakers, this LCD screen also features height adjustment, tilt, and rotation. Pricing and availability have not been announced yet, but there’s a generous review over at TrustedReviews.
The problems with the Viewsonic are that the contrast could be better, the speakers are a disappointment. However, the brightness, sharpness and vivid images are all a plus as well as its height adjustment, screen size and resolution. The Viewsonic VG2230wm is a good screen and the pick of the 22in bunch, but you’ll have to decide if you should pay more for the slightly smaller but even better Samsung 215TW.
