Western Digital is expanding its new My Book lineup once more with the Studio Edition. It is compatible with Macs and is available in sizes ranging from 320GB to 1TB. The device also features a quadruple interface giving users the option of using USB 2.0, FireWire 400 / 800, or eSATA. Additionally, the drive offers up “automatic, continuous backup,” a capacity gauge, five-year warranty, SmartPower feature, a fanless design to keep things quiet, and an “elegant silver metallic finish that perfectly complements other Mac products.” Western Digital My Book Studio Edition is available now from $199.99 to $399.99 depending on capacity.

Western Digital My Book With 1TB Storage

Western Digital is not only targeted pure media junkies but also style conscious users who wants to bank on high capacity external hard drive to store data. Available in 320GB to 1TB capacities, the new My Book hard drive provides many useful features such as automatic, continuous backup, capacity gauge (to show how much space is free), SmartPower feature that powers the drive on and off with the computer, USB 2.0 interface (plus FireWire 400 and eSATA on Home Edition), and Kensington security slot. Western Digital My Book Now Available In 2TB Capacity

If the 1TB external hard drive is not enough for you, Western Digital now offers its My Book external hard drive with a full 2TB of storage capacity. That includes the My Book World Edition II, the My Book Pro Edition II, and My Book Premium Edition II models. These hard drives retail between $749 and $799 depending on the model.

GreenPower Hard Drives From Western Digital

Western Digital today unveiled GreenPower, a line of internal hard drives that focus on energy efficiency. These hard drives use 40% less power than competitors’ drives while maintaining in-class performance, which would make even Al Gore proud. The WD Caviar GP series 3.5 inch SATA drives are now available ranging from 320GB to 1TB.

Western Digital RE2 (RAID Edition) hard drive is designed for enterprise market and comes with 750GB storage capacity. This hard drive sports 3.0 Gb/s data transfer rate, 7200rpm speed, Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and 16MB cache. It is touted as the world’s most reliable server-class SATA drive and adopts few WD exclusive technologies including SecurePark for improved shock characteristics, StableTrac for better vibration performance, and IntelliSeek to reduce power consumption, noise and vibration. Western Digital Scorpio 250GB Notebook Hard Drive

Western Digital Corp has announced the availability of its 250GB WD Scorpio 2.5-inch Serial ATA hard drive for notebooks. Dubbed as the WD2500BEVS, the hard drive spins at 5400rpm and features perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology for higher storage capacity in a small form factor. It also has 8MB of buffer cache memory and 12ms access time. In addition, this SATA hard drive adopts Western Digital’s technologies including WhisperDrive for quiet work and ShockGuard for hard drive’s physical protection. WD Scorpio WD2500BEVS 250GB drives retails for $199.99.
