
Willcom today announced the Willcom 03, which is the first Windows Mobile 6.1 classic smartphone in Japan. The gadget is equipped with a 3 inch touchscreen LCD WVGA (800×480), two different types of keyboards(a keypad or a multidirectional pad), 256MB of memory, a microSD and W-SIM slot, a camera 2MP shooter with AutoFocus and a QWERTY keyboard. Sharp and Willcom have collaborated to release the Willcom D4 or WSO16H Ultra Mobile PC. Weighing at only 470grams and measuring 84mm x 188mm x25.9mm, the UMPC features with 1Gb of RAM, 40GB of HDD, a Centrino Atom Z520 (1.33GHz), a 5 inch Touch screen (1024×600) LCD with LED Backlight, Wifi B/G and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR. Willcom of Japan has announced the arrival of the newest phone known as the X Plate phone. The Plate phone is one of the few Japan-only phones that can also be used in China, Thailand or Taiwan with the right PIM card. The X Plate features Internet browsing, Java and Flash support, and a 1.8 display. Unfortunately Willcom hasn’t released pricing or release dates yet, but they should soon.

Willcom will be releasing some cellphones for emailing, etc., for Japan. They come in multiple colors and are now available at the Willcom website. No word on the exact pricing, but we’ll keep you posted.
