
Sprint today released the U1901 WiMAX USB modem, which supports the Sprint 4G network. The dongle is a small, simplistic device that works with Windows 7, Vista, XP and OS X (10.5 and 10.6), and when you’re in a 4G zone it can provide throughput of up to 10x faster than Sprint 3G. MOBLIC is a new gadget manufacturer that was just established on February 1st, 2009. The company has recently introduced the Moblic E7 MID “Mobius”, which is their first product. This WiMAX gaming MID features a 4-inch touchscreen WVGA display, an 8GB Flash Memory, a 600Mhz CPU, a 256MB of RAM and a Micro SD card extension slot. The cool factor of this gadget is that it supports 802.11 b/g WiFi, IEEE 802.16e WiMAX wireless connectivity, and sliding QWERTY keyboard. No word on pricing or availability at this time. C-motech has debuted its new 3G WiMAX USB modem during Mobile World Congress 2010. Known as the CMR-250, the modem supports both 10/100 Ethernet LAN port and WAN port. No info on pricing so far. We will keep you posted. Read more

NEC has proudly announced the world’s first smallest WiMAX router with wireless LAN support. Known as the Aterm WM3300R, the device measures at only 94mm x 67mm x 22mm and weights for 145grams. The WiMAX router comes with embedded Wireless LAN (BG), offering Multi SSID functions and basic Wireless LAN Security protocols like WEP and WPA(TKIP/AES). The WM3300R connects to the computer via USB port. The NEC Aterm WM3300R will be available in early November 2009 in Japan for 25,000 Yen or around $272. [Impress]

I-O Data just released two new WiMax-ready products in the Japanese market in the form of the WiMax USB dongle WMX-01 and wireless LAN router WMX-GW02A to host it. The router supports up to 40Mbps of data transfer wirelessly. The WiMax-ready USB Dongle and Wireless Lan router will be available in Japan later this month for 15,700 Yen ($159). [I-O Data]

Japanese telecommunication company UQ Communication offers free WiMax to all subscribers (limited to 5000 people) until June 2009. Starting today until the 15th, if you subscribe to a WiMax connection in Tokyo, Yokohama, or Kawasaki for a monthly fee of 4,480 Yen, then you will receive free WiMax service with 40Mbps downlink and 10Mbps uplink speed. Motorola offers a new USB WiMAX adapter in the form of the Motorola USBw 100. It is actually the company’s first USB WiMAX device. The USBw 100 comes in the form of a regular USB flash drive and provides high-speed mobile broadband on your 2.3GHz, 2.5GHz or 3.5 GHz network. The Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition price tag has finally unveiled. Buy.com offers a discount on the handset from $479 to $456. FYI, the WiMAX Edition of N810 features a 4.13 inch touchscreen along with a slider QWERTY keyboard. A host of popular applications, including IM, Skype, Google Talk and Gizmo5 are available to take advantage of VoIP calling. Samsung Electronics today unveiled four new Mobile WiMAX devices to the Korean market. Known as the SPH-M8200, SPH-P9200, SPH-H1300, SWT-200K, these Mobile WiMAX devices are currently available via Korea Telecom(KT)’s Mobile WiMAX network. Measuring at just 16.6mm thin, the SPH-M8200 is a PDA type Mobile WiMAX device which supports Mobile WiMAX and CDMA EV-DO connectivity. The gadget also sports Terrestrial DMB, Bluetooth, file viewer and enhanced UCC related functions including video editor and background music.
The Samsung SPH-P9200 is powered by Microsoft Windows XP operating system. The handset supports voice, video-telephony calls, Mobile WiMAX, HSDPA and Wi-Fi. The SPH-H1300 and SWT-H200K are USB type modems which can be connected to laptops for quick use of Mobile WiMAX technology. Pricing info are still unknown.
