Texas Instruments has announced their new OMAP4 chip. This next generation mobile applications processors will feature dual, SMP-capable ARMv7-based cores, along with C64x DSPs, multi-format hardware accelerators, a “programmable” graphics engine, and an “image signal processor” (ISP). Supporting up to 20MP sensors, the chip will also allow for recording and playing back video at 1080p and offer a week of audio playback time. Pricing and availability are still unknown. [Ubergizmo]

Here are two new digicams from Nikon from its Coolpix S-series. The Nikon S630 and S620 are 12MP compact digital cameras that feature Nikkor zoom lens, Blink Proof feature, Smile Mode and Blink Warning, Quick Retouch and Subject Tracking AF. The S630 is available only in Black or Ruby Red. The S620 comes in Bright Silver, Calm Black, Noble Purple and Precious Pink. The former has a 7x zoom meanwhile the latter is less capable at 4x zoom. By 2012 the Korea Communications Commission will launch the world’s fastest wired and wireless Internet service at 10 times the speed of the current service. The aim is to give users seamless access to large-capacity, high-quality convergence services such as IPTV. Through fixed lines the internet service will acquire at average speed of 1 Gbps and through wireless at 10 Mbps.
