Green-House of Japan has proudly introduced its new slim Blu-ray disc player, the GHV-BD100K. Measuring 16.9-inch x 9.8-inch x 1.97-inch and weighing 2.4 Kg, the BD-player provides several connectivity options such as HDMI, component, Composite and optical fiber in 1080p. What’s more, the Green-House GHV-BD100K also supports DVD upscaling feature, a gradation-smoothening deep color output, Bonusview and BD-Live. Denon will launch the DBP-1611UD 3D universal Blu-Ray player in the Japanese market later this month. The DBP-1611UD plays all 5-inch disc formats such as BD, DVD, CD, DVD-Audio and SACD. The company has always been a leader in producing good sounding equipment and their continued dedication to supporting high resolution audio formats like DVD-Audio and SACD is highly commendable. What’s more, the Blu-ray player also supports BD-Live, Netflix and YouTube streaming. The DBP-1611UD is also DLNA certified, which makes it possible for you to stream audio/video/photo files from other DLNA certified devices on your network. The LG BD960 is known to be the first Blu-ray player on the Wi-Fi Direct certification list. For your info, the Wi-Fi Direct is software protocols that enables Wi-Fi devices to connect with each other without the requirement of wireless access points. The new Blu-ray player can stream Netflix, Vudu, and DLNA network content, as well as play DivX HD 1080p content. Too bad, there is no word on when the LG BD690 will arrive, or how much it will cost. Sharp Super slim BD-HP90 3D Blu-ray Player

Sharp Japan today introduced the BD-HP90 3D Blu-ray player, which is touted to be the slimmest of its kind in the world. Measuring at only 35mm thick, the player is not only thin, but it can also be used both in a horizontal and vertical position. The Sharp BD-HP90 comes with a USB port, an HDMI interface, Ethernet and AQUOS Link. Unfortunetely, this Blu-ray player doesn’t support BDXL. Sharp plans to start selling the BD-HP90 in Japan on November 20th, 2010 for $495 a pop. [Sharp]

Sony Releases BWU-500S Blu-Ray RW Drives

Sony Optiarc today released the BWU-500S internal Blu-ray disc (BD) rewritable drive, which can write BD-R media at up to 12X and dual layer BD-R media at up to 8X speeds, recording a full 25GB disc in about 10 minutes. The Sony BWU-500S comes bundled with a 25GB Sony BD-R blank disc and CyberLink’s Media Suite 8 software for capturing, authoring, editing, backing up, viewing high-definition personal content and playing back Blu-ray disc movies including 3D Blu-ray movies. The drive is also able to record standard 4.7GB DVD+/-R discs at up to 16X speeds, 8.5GB DVD+/-R Double/Dual layer at up to 8X, DVD+RW at up to 8X, DVD-RW at up to 6X, CD-R at up to 48X, CD-RW at up to 24X, and support DVD-RAM recording at up to 12X speeds. Yamaha BD-A1000 Blu-ray Player

If you are searching for a new Blu-ray player, then check out the Yamaha BD-A1000. This Blu-ray player provides an HDMI port, component outputs, digital audio ports, an RS-232C control socket and an Ethernet port to get access to all those different content features. There are also a pair of USB ports, access to Netflix, Blockbuster Online, YouTube, BD-Live and BonusView content. The Yamaha BD-A1000 is expected to retail for $699.95. [HotHardware]

Pioneer Japan today announced the BDR-206MBK, which is known as the world’s first BDXL Blu-ray burner for PC. The device is compatible to BD-R XL discs with three (100GB) or four layers (128GB) and BD-RE XL discs with 3 layers (100GB). What’s more, the Blu-day burner also supports 3D Blu-ray discs. The Pioneer BDR-206MBK will hit Japanese stores next month for $372 each.

Buffalo has also announced the BRXL-6FBS-BK BDXL Blu-ray burner that supports exactly the same BDXL discs as the Pioneer burner and also plays 3D Blu-rays. The Buffalo BRXL-6FBS-BK will be available in both an external (USB 2.0) BRXL-6U2 and an internal (SATA) BRXL-6FBS-BK. Here is the latest ultra slim 3D Blu-ray recorder from Sharp. Measuring at just 35mm thick, the Sharp Aquos BD-AV07 comes equipped with a digital TV tuner and supports BD-RE, BD-R as well as BD XL disks. What’s more, the BD recorder also supports Japanese VOD internet services. Sharp will release the Sharp Aquos BD-AV07 in December for around 85,000 Yen or around $1,047. [Sharp]

Sharp BD-HP80U And BD-HP90U Network 3D Blu-ray Players

Sharp today introduced two new 3D network Blu-ray players with full HD 3D 1080p/24 fps video output for home entertainment experiences with outstanding and lifelike image clarity. Known as the Sharp BD-HP90U and BD-HP80U, both players provide you an access to content from a wide variety of sources such as Netflix, VUDU and Pandora from the Internet via Wireless LAN. Additionally, the Sharp BD-HP90U and BD-HP80U also play standard-definition DVDs and CDs, as well as DIVX HD, JPEG and MP3 files.
