Olympus today unveiled the SP-800UZ super zoom camera at the Photo & Imaging 2010 in Seoul, Korea. The camera features a 14-megapixels sensor with a superb 30x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch 16:9 wide LCD screen and a 2GB built-in memory. Too bad, there is no info on pricing or availability so far. Gsou USB Webcam

Chinese camera specialist Gsou is back with a new USB webcam that features the “anti-peep” technology. This webcam comes equipped with a robotic arm that will automatically cover its camera lens as soon as a video conferencing session completes. There is also a manual override, allowing you to uncover the lens by yourself. The webcam also provides a good video quality thanks to the 5-layer glass coating lens. Too bad, the Gsou USB Webcam doesn’t support HD video calls. [Everything USB]

New Nikon D700 Promotion

Nikon UK has recently announced a new promotion for all UK and Irish customers purchasing its D700 FX format digital SLR camera. They will be entitled to claim a free MB-D10 battery grip worth £343.99 ($525). The offer is available from 1 May 2010 to 30 June 2010 (inclusive) and all claims must be received by 31 July 2010. FYI, the MB-D10 features an alternative shutter-release button, multi-selector and AF start buttons. Japanese gadget giant Toshiba will release the Toshiba Camileo SX900 camcorder in July 2010. This mega zoom camcorder supports Full HD 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. The new Camileo SX900 also provides an HDMI port, so you can connect it to your HDTV to enjoy your favorite videos. Other features include a 2.7-inch fold out LCD display, a 9x optical zoom and support SDXC memory card format.
