Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 Review

This 6.2 MP Sony DSC-H2 is a replacement camera for the popular DSC-H1. Digital Photography Review wrote:

The Cyber-shot DSC-H1 was Sony’s first foray into the increasingly crowded compact, image stabilized ‘super zoom’ market, and it was a very successful one too. The DSC-H2 (along with big brother the DSC-H5) arrived almost exactly a year later in February 2006. In truth the H2 isn’t a major upgrade – a bit of a re-style, a few new features and an extra megapixel – but some of the refinements, though small, are significant. Let’s find out if the H2 has what it takes to compete with the likes of Canon’s PowerShot S3 IS

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 features a 36-432mm equivalent (12x optical) F2.8-3.7 Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens, Super Steady Shot optical image stabilization, wide ISO 80-1000 range, a clear RAW™ noise reduction technology, a 2.0 inch LCD (85,000 pixels) & 0.2 inch (200,000 pixel) Electronic viewfinder, full photographic control, Real Imaging Processor & 14-bit DXP A/D Conversion, an optional wide and tele lens converters, 7 modes scene selection, histogram indication and 32MB internal memory, plus a Memory Stick/PRO Duo slot. PSP Camera

The guys at British Gaming Blog have revelaed pictures of the soon to be released PSP camera. Not much information about it yet. Via Kotaku.

It looks like the metal-encased camera will be 1.3 mega-pixels and include a built in microphone. It also looks like, judging by the image, that the thing will jut out in front and behind the portable. I could be wrong about that, it might be that this image is showing some sort of security or display attachment

Olympus Stylus 810 / µ [mju:] 810 Review

The new Olympus Stylus 810 is a compact 8MP camera with a 3x optical zoom, a 2.5 inch 230,000 pixel LCD, and a 28Mb of internal memory. Dcviews has a review of this camera. They wrote:

When you pick up the Stylus 810 you can feel that this is a quality piece of equipment. Its slim-line, durable all metal body gives the impression that this Olympus is built to last. Thanks to its compact and ergonomic design it easily fits a shirt pocket and its all-weather construction ensures that the Stylus 810 is equally at ease on a hot summer’s day as in a downpour. Mind you it is not submersible as some other Olympus models, but the rubber sealing throughout the interior of the camera will make sure that a drop of rain or speck of dust will do no harm.

The Olympus Stylus 810 is also called µ [mju:] 810 in Europe. The product package includes USB and AV cables, a wrist strap and printed instruction manual. For price comparison, visit Dcviews. Via DigitalCameras@TechFresh.
