Toshiba Releases M-800 Portege

Toshiba will finally be dropping the M-800 Portege laptop Quarter 3 in Europe. The M-800 features a white pearl finish with silver accents, white LEDs, a 2GHz Core 2 Duo T5750, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a WXGA (1,280 x 800) panel, Intel’s GMA X3100 graphics set, a built-in DVD burner, three USB 2.0 ports, FireWire / VGA / headphone sockets, 802.11a/g/n wifi, 56k modem, gigabit ethernet, bluetooth and Vista Home Premium. NEC claims its new Versa S9100 laptop to be the “toughest notebook in the world”. Its top cover is specially built to withstand a massive 300Kgs per square foot of pressure. However, the keyboard itself is not water resistant, too bad for a “toughest notebook in the world”. This desktop replacement also comes equipped with a fingerprint biometric sensor and TPM security chip combo. The NEC Versa S9100 laptop retails for a hefty US$2,700 in Singapore.
