
Hitachi has showed off their latest internal HDD, the Deskstar 7K4000. Coming in 4TB capacity, this 3.5-inch HDD is equipped with 64MB of buffer memory, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, 7200RPM spindle speed and capable of delivering a maximum media transfer rate of 1,638MB/s. The Deskstar 7K4000 will start shipping this month for unannounced price yet. [Hitachi]

Silicon Power has added three new color options to its LuxMini 720 USB flash drive line-up. These colors include Peach, Deep Blue and Bronze. Coming in capacities ranging from 4GB to 32GB, these plug and play USB flash drives feature a durable aluminum casing, a USB 2.0 connection interface and are backed by a lifetime warranty. Zalman has recently dropped a new line of SATA 6.0 Gbps SSDs ‘SSD-F1′ for the Japanese market. Coming in 60GB, 120GB and 240GB sizes, these 2.5-inch SSDs are equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a SandForce SF-2281 controller, a MTBF of 1.2 million hours and capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 560MB/s and 530MB/s, respectively. Dutch promotional product manufacturer Deonet has unveiled the world’s smallest USB memory stick. Measuring 19.5mm x 14.5mm x 2.9mm, the storage device adopts the Micro UDP chip, which is smaller than the physical size of other USB memory solutions. Available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB of storage capacities, the flash drive will be available in January 2012. [Gizmag]

Buffalo has unveiled another one of its upcoming external hard drive called the MiniStation HD-PCT1TU2-BWJ. Available in 1TB capacity, this new 2.5-inch hard drive features a glossy white enclosure, a USB 2.0 connection interface and a power saving mode that can cut consumption by up to 20%. The MiniStation HD-PCT1TU2-BWJ will go on sale in Japan from early January for 16,800 Yen (about $215). [TechPowerUp]

I-O Data hits back with a new line of USB flash drives, the TB-PW. Available in two different storage capacities: 4GB and 8GB, these password protected USB flash drives feature a capless design, a slide-out USB 2.0 connector and supports for Windows 7/Vista/XP operating system. Thecus will begin shipping their newest 4-bay NAS server on January 7th. The device will be sold for around 44,000 Yen (about $564). Coming in both 64GB and 128GB capacities, the Synapse is OCZ’s latest line of SATA 6.0 Gbps SSDs for the mass market. These 2.5-inch SSDs are packed with 2Xnm MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a SandForce SF-2281 controller, TRIM support, a MTBF of 2 million hours and promise to provide read/write speeds of up to 550/490 MB/s (64GB Model) and 550/510 MB/s (128GB Model), respectively. Super Talent has released the Storage POD Mini portable solid state drive. Measuring 110mm x 68mm x 10mm, the storage device features an all-aluminum casing, which makes it more durable. The Storage POD Mini uses a SandForce SSD processor and supports the USB 3.0 interface, delivering a fast 260MB/s transfer rate. Powered by a 1.6GHz processor, the device is equipped with an LCD display, a 256MB RAM, four 3.5-inch SATA HDD bays, 1x USB 2.0 port, 2x USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and supports for both JBOD and RAID (0,1,5) configurations.
