
Samsung has unveiled the 16GB version of the UHS-1 microSD card. This storage device is perfect for today’s high-end LTE smartphones and tablets. The 16GB UHS-1 microSD card uses a 20nm-class 64Gb chip with toggle DDR 2.0 support and an advanced Samsung controller. Check out this newly introduced 10TB 5-Bay NAS server from Princeton, the DN-503AH-PDC-10T. Team Group has unveiled a new line of USB 3.0 flash drives, the S112. Coming in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB sizes, these high-speed USB flash drives feature a zinc alloy metallic body, a USB 3.0 connection interface and promise to provide read/write speeds of up to 55/15 MB/s (8GB Model) and 55/30 MB/s (16GB and 32GB Models), respectively. I-O Data will launch their newest SSD, the SSDN-3T120B. Coming in 120GB capacity, this 2.5-inch SSD features a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, TRIM support and can deliver sequential read and write speeds of up to 480MB/s and 350MB/s (random read and write speeds of up to 440MB/s and 340MB/s). Hitachi hits back with a new line of enterprise hard drives, the Ultrastar 7K4000. Coming in 2TB, 3TB and 4TB capacities, these 3.5-inch HDDs are equipped with a 64MB of cache memory, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a 7200RPM spindle speed, a MTBF of 2 million hours and can deliver a maximum data transfer speed of up to 171MB/s. Mach Xtreme Technology has once again expanded its line of SATA II SSDs by announcing the MX-JET ULTRA. Available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB sizes, these 2.5-inch SSDs are packed with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a 64MB of DDR2 SDRAM cache memory, a MTBF of 1.5 million hours and promise to provide read and write speeds of up to 270MB/s and 180MB/s, respectively. Western Digital has unveiled the new My Passport Studio 2TB external hard drive for Mac. It is known as the company’s first 2TB portable hard drive for Mac users. This external hard disk drive connects to your Mac computers via USB 2.0 and two super-fast FireWire 800 ports. The Western Digital My Passport Studio 2TB for Mac also provides hardware-based encryption and password protection software. The new Transcend PSD320 is a 2.5-inch Solid State Drive (SSD) with PATA interface. Based on MLC flash, the storage device offers sequential read and write transfer speeds of 104MB/s and 93MB/s, respectively. Here comes a new line of SATA 6.0 Gbps SSDs from Lite-On, the E200. Available in both 80GB and 160GB sizes, these 2.5-inch SSDs are packed with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a Marvell controller, a MTBF of 1.5 million hours and can provide read/write speeds of up to 500/120 MB/s (80GB Model) and 510/240 MB/s (160GB Model), respectively. Lexar Media is preparing to release their latest solid-state cache drive ‘Crucial Adrenaline’ in Japan. Coming in 50GB capacity, this 2.5-inch solid-state cache drive is equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 95MB/s, respectively.
