OCZ Enyo USB 3.0 SSD Drive

The OCZ Enyo is an external USB 3.0 SSD-based drive that should hit retail sometime in mid May 2010. Available in 64, 128 and 256GB of storage capacities, the device uses MLC NAND flash memory, 64MB of on board cache and USB 3.0 Micro B connector interface. The Enyo boasts a maximum transfer speed of up to 260MB/s for read and up to 200MB/s for write with sustained speeds of up to 150MB/s for 128GB and 256GB versions. The 64GB model will have a bit lower speeds of up to 225MB/s for read and up to 135MB/s for write with sustained write of up to 40MB/s. [Fudzilla]

Corsair has added two new storage capacities to its Nova SSD line-up by announcing the 32GB and 256GB models. Both of these 2.5-inch drives feature MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, an Indilinx Barefoot controller and support the newest Windows 7 TRIM feature. In terms of performance, they provide read and write speeds of up to 195/75 MB/s (32GB model) and 250/195 MB/s (256GB model), respectively. PQI has once again expanded its 2.5-inch portable hard drive line-up by announcing the H551. Measuring 119mm x 80mm x 13.2mm, this palm-sized drive is equipped with a USB 2.0/1.1 interface and comes bundled with both TurboHDD USB speed boosting and the Ur-Smart mobile management softwares. Some European online stores have begun taking pre-orders for G.Skill’s upcoming SandForce-based SSDs, the Phoenix. Announced back in March, at CeBIT 2010, these high performance SSDs are equipped with the latest SandForce SF-1200 controller, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, an MTBF of 1.5 million hours and capable of providing read and write speeds of up to 280MB/s and 270MB/s, respectively. The Phoenix line is currently available in 50GB and 100GB of storage space, with the 100GB model retails for 389 Euro (about $517). [Softpedia]

Patriot Xporter USB Flash Drive

Patriot Memory today launched the Patriot Xporter USB flash drive that has a preloaded copy of the zero gravity first-person shooter known as Shattered Horizon. This bundle will be accompanied by a Steam download code that allows you to download and install the game. The Patriot Xporter USB flash drive is currently available in 8GB and 16GB of storage space. Power Quotient International (PQI) hits back with a new range of USB 3.0 flash drives called the Cool Drive U368. Coming in capacities ranging from 8GB to 128GB, these drives feature a USB 3.0/2.0 interface and can provide transfer speeds of up to 105MB/s (USB 3.0). In addition, they also come bundled with the TurboFlash USB software for improving read/write speeds. Pricing and availability are still unknown at the moment. [CDRLabs]

Super Talent VSSD Unveiled

Super Talent has recently introduced its latest affordable solid state drive (SSD) known as the Super Talent VSSD. This value-for-money SSD provides shorter OS boot-up time, faster application loading, less system power consumption and a brand new experience the customer can never get from traditional hard-disks. In addition, the VSSD is also capable of sequential read speeds up to 150 MB/sec and sequential write speeds up to 100 MB/sec. Available in capacities from 8GB to 64GB, the Super Talent VSSD drives are encased in a lightweight polymer shell that protects the drives against physical damage. The 8GB model retails for approx. $65, while the 64GB model is priced at around $175. [FarEastGizmos]

First announced back in January, the DataTraveler 5000 USB Flash Drive from Kingston is finally available for purchase in Europe. In case you didn’t remember, this particular drive is FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certified with Level 3 pending, and features a built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption for an extra level of security. What’s more, it also uses both XTS cipher mode and elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) algorithms to meet Suite B standards approved by the U.S. government. The DataTraveler 5000 is currently available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities for 82 Euro (about $108), 103 Euro (about 136), 129 Euro (about $170) and 298 Euro (about $394), respectively.
