Bridgestone Japan has managed to develop an A3 sized color electronic paper which claimed to be the world thinnest electronic paper with only 0.29-millimeters thick. The firm has showcased the concept at the FPD International 2007 exhibition held at Yokohama. This “paper” offers a viewable area of 435mm x 326mm and can display 4096 colors at 80dpi resolution. In addition, the electronic paper utilities QR – LPD (Quick-Response Liquid Powder Display) which the company has been developed over the years.

Aluratek’s newest digital photo frame: the 11-inch ADMPF311F and 15-inch ADMPF315F just entered the market. The 11-inch brings in only 1GB of memory while the 15-inch has 256 MB of storage. But most likely you’ll be viewing off of a compact flash/sd card readers. Other than that, they both support MPEG, JPEG, WMV, MP3, AVI files as well as USB thumb drives. A 1024×768 resolution adds to it with the the 11-inch at $200 and 15-inch at $300.

Philips offers a new 9 inch Digital Photoframe which is encased in a brushed aluminum exterior. Though not much is know about it, but we can assume that it will have a reasonable amount of internal memory plus have memory card slots for expansion. This Philips digital photoframe will be released by the end of the year.

The frame offers a brightness control that provides an optimal viewing experience under any lighting condition. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a dynamic brightness control. Its internal memory can store a mere 15 images, but you can use a 2GB memory card via its memory card slot. The AXN-9701 also supports USB flash drives via a direct USB connection.
