Toshiba has recently announced its two new media recorders, the RD-S600 and S300, but without HD-DVD or Blu-Ray support. The recorders feature a 600 and 300GB hard disk, a DVD burner, an HDMI port, 720p/1080i upscale, and a digital TV tuner. Pricing and availability are still unknown.

Philips DVDR3360H has a bright silver unit (435 x 65 x 340mm) in a reasonably slim casing for a DVD recorder. The eye-catching feature of the DVDR3360H is the pair of glowing red and blue “rings” on the front right-hand side. The rear of the DVDR3360H houses connections for component-video, S-video and composite-A/V connections and, in common with many other recorders, there’s also a drop-down panel that hides a secondary set of composite, S-video and videocam (DV) input connectors. Tivo has just announced their Series 2 Dual-Tuner. The user is now available to record two shows at once. Another feature added is TiVoToGo, which enables you to transfer to some portable video players. The Series 2 will go on sale May 1st and will cost $100 after rebate and service activation. Grundig has just released the VP6200, an all-purpose PMP with a digital video camera. It allows you to record TV and DVDs as well as film short Mpegs. It supports JPEG, Mp3, DivX, WMA, FM radio, etc. on its 3.5 inch, 65,000 color screen. You can convert CDs and TV to media to store on its 30 GB hard drive. The price is £350 (about $600 US), which may be a bit hefty for a PMP. Either way this PMP packs a wallop. Info via Stuff UK.

TiVo Series 3 is coming out and TiVo Series 2.5 will be discontinued. The new TiVo will feature a 250 GB hard drive and they’re also pushing a 320 GB external drive to give viewers up to 70 hours of High Definition recorded entertainment. Info via Gizmodo.

Nextar has just introduced the Nextar MC3007 Portable Media Player, an inexpensive PMP that’s full of features, it plays and records video files & audio/music files, and allows you to view picture files with its 7-inch display and 40 GB hard drive.
