Shenzhen Boeye E510 e-Book Reader

Chinese manufacturer Shanzai has launched an e-Book reader namely the Boeye E510. Available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB of storage capacities, the gadget is powered by a 5-inch (800×600) e-ink display with 16 grayscale level, a 400Mhz Samsung 2416 CPU, and a mini USB port for data transfer. First Pictures Of Barnes And Noble e-Book Reader

Here are several pictures of the upcoming Barnes and Noble e-Book reader. From these leaked pictures, we can see that the gadget will feature an e-ink screen as expected, but it will be monochrome only. LG Solar Cell e-Book Reader

LG has just unveiled its first e-Book reader that integrates a thin solar cell for extending its battery life. Measuring only 0.7mm thick and weighing just 20 grams, this thin solar cell is able to extend the running time of the e-book’s battery by a day, simply by exposing it to sunlight for about four to five hours. iRiver Story eBook Reader Revealed

The guys over at MobileRead Forums has posted several leaked informations including picture of iRiver’s upcoming eBook reader called the Story. Although not yet officially announced, it’s said that the 6-inch reader will feature a full QWERTY keyboard, a memory card slot (up to 32GB), a comic book viewer and support for PDF, epub, txt, ppt, xls and other popular book formats without requiring their conversion. Measuring only 9mm thick and weighing just 6.5 ounces, this portable device offers a 5-inch touchscreen display and a 512MB of storage capacity. Sadly, there’s no WiFi or 3G connectivity included. Amazon Kindle DX Announced: $489, Ships This Summer

Amazon has finally announced the price tag for its latest wireless reading device ‘Kindle DX’, which is priced at $489. Amazon is now taking pre-orders of the Kindle DX, but an estimated ship date remains unknown other than this summer. Braille E-Book Concept

Normally translating any book into braille would more than double its thickness. So in order to help the blind read more books, designer Seon-Keun Park, Byung-Min Woo, Sun-Hye Woo and Jin-Sun Park tried to solve this problem by creating the Braille e-book concept. Think of it as the braille version of the Kindle.  It adopts the EAP technology that can dynamically change the surface pattern by way of an electromagnetic signal to simulate braille text. The Onyx Boox is a new Kindle 2 competitor that boasts a 6 inch 16 shades of gray display with touchscreen capability.
