Taking inspiration from a real book on the bookshelf, this eReader concept comes with some control buttons that are cleverly hidden on the sides of the case. Chinese gadget manufacturer JXD has recently introduced their latest e-book reader. The JXD Book A21 features a full color touchscreen display as well as supports for full HD movie playback in a wide range of file formats. The gadget also supports nine reading profiles and Text-to-Speech capability. Too bad, the JXD Book A21 lacks of a keyboard and a Wi-Fi connectivity. Elonex has showed off their latest color e-Book reader at IFA 2010 called the freeBook 700FB. Specs-wise, the device is packed with a 7-inch 480 x 800 color LCD display, a 2GB of internal memory, an SD/MMC card slot (up to 16GB), a built-in microphone, a 3.5mm headset jack and an integrated speaker. Not to mention, the device also supports most of multimedia file formats including WAV, MP3, AVI, XVID, MPEG-1, H.264, JPEG, GIF, PNG, ePub as well as PDF. Here’s another upcoming e-Book reader from a Chinese-based company Hanvon, the E800. Powered by an ARM Cortex A-8 processor, the device is packed with an 8-inch 1024 x 768 E-ink touchscreen display, a 128MB RAM, a 512MB ROM, a microSD card slot (4GB card included), a mini-USB port, a 3.5mm headset jack, dual-channel speakers, WiFi and runs on Windows CE OS. Acer has officially confirmed the availability of the Acer LumiRead eBook reader in Germany. The company will launch this e-book reader in October 2010, with a speculated price point of €250 or around $316. The new Literati e-book reader is now available at The Sharper Image. Priced at just $159, this Kindle competitor boasts a 7-inch (800×480) LCD display to show cover art and photos in e-book files. The device also supports Wi-Fi connectivity for downloading books from Kobo’s online bookstore. Too bad, this eReader is non-touch and uses a Kindle-like keyboard below the screen as well as side buttons for turning pages. Chinese gadget manufacturer Huawei will release their first e-book reader in the form of the Huawei T62W. This gadget will feature a 6-inch e-Ink touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, a microSDHC slot and a SIM card slot. There is no further info about this upcoming eReader. Asustek Computer will release a new e-book reader with an 8-inch 64-grayscale TFT-LCD screen without backlight in October 2010. The LCD panel of Asustek’s e-book reader is provided by Chimei Innolux (CMI), which makes it with a special process to improve reflection. The display also supports a fast response time.
