
Polk Audio today introduced the HitMaster gaming speaker that is targeted toward gamers who are playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero video games. Measuring 14-inch x 9,5-inch x 8,25-inch and weighing at 13 lbs, the HitMaster features a single-point stereo design that includes two 2.5-inch x 5.5-inch horns with two 1-inch neodymium tweeters surrounding a 6.5-inch woofer to produce a wide soundfield. Altec Lansing today unveiled their latest amplified speaker, which is designed to work with Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and DJ Hero. JVC is ready to release their latest home theater audio system in the Japanese market later this month. Measuring 1.2-inch thick, the AX-FT amplifier and SP-FT speakers are thin enough to be hung on a wall or stood up on its stand on a bookshelf. This ultra thin home theater combo produces 4×20W output power and supports both Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound formats. Zvox has announced a new home theater system called the IncrediBase 575. The system features five 2-inch full-range speakers, a 133-watt amplifier, and dual 6.5-inch long-extrusion subs inside a single cabinet, which can be placed under a flat screen TV. It can produce sounds levels similar to a full 5.1 surround sound system. The Zvox uses the PhaseCue virtual surround technology to create 3D surround sound from the cabinet. JVC today announced two new soundbars at CEDIA 2009. The TH-BA1 and TH-SB100 are actually the same unit, the latter just comes paired with a JVC Blu-ray player for a more comprehensive package. Both soundbars feature four individually housed 3 3/16-inch speakers, an amplifier and a sound processor with 220 watts of total system power. They support Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS decoding. The subwoofer features a 6 5/6-inch driver and is powered by an internal 100-watt digital amplifier. JVC utilities the 2.4GHz digital wireless band to connect the subwoofer to the soundbar sans wires. Each purchase comes with a remote to handle power, volume adjustment, source selection and surround mode selection. Asus has launched its uBoom and uBoom Q soundbar speakers that are designed to provide high fidelity audio and heart-thumping bass via a maze-like reflex port, which is then channeled through speakers designed to place the user in the audio sweet-spot. Both the ASUS uBoom and uBoom Q sound-bar speakers feature USB 2.0 connectivity for audio output. Logitech has officially replaced its G25 Racing Wheel with the new G27. The new version adds shift-indicator LEDs that will help gamers to know when to up/down gear, and more programmable buttons on the wheel. This leather-wrapped gaming wheel now has a total of six buttons, compared to just two previously. The G27 supports games under Windows XP/Vista, and on the PS3 or PS2.
