London UK-based Mathmos today introduced the Fireflow R1 and Fireflow O1 that were designed by the same company that invented the original lava lamp over 45 years ago. The R1 looks like a tiny rocket ship, loaded up with bubbly goo that gradually morphs under the warm glow of candlelight. Meanwhile, the O1 comes with a modern design that floats a mouth-blown glass lava container several inches in the air above the flame. Both models are available in a variety of fluorescent colors, and a sparkly glitter version, sans lava. Burn time is rated at approx. 3-hours. Mathmos will released the Fireflow lava lamps this Fall. The Fireflow R1 and Fireflow O1 retail for £29 ($49) and £35 ($60), respectively. More
