CNet has a deep review of LG’s newest 42-inch LCD display, LG 42LB1R. It features 1366 x 768 native resolution, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 500 cd/m2 brightness, 8ms response time, a built-in dedicated subwoofer, HDMI port, and a 178-degree viewing angle. Its price tag is US$2,544.22.

At the heart of the silver-and-black piano concoction is an HD-ready 1,366 x 768-pixel Super In Plane Switching LCD panel. This is rated with an above-average 3,000:1 contrast ratio and a more down-to-earth 500cd/m2 brightness. Coupled with a fast 8ms response time and industrial-leading 178-degree viewing angle, LG has itself a competitively specced TV which rivals most other entry- to midrange offerings.

The Dell E207WFP is the company’s latest widescreen 20.1 inch LCD, featuring 1680 x 1050 resolutions, 5ms response time, and a DVI port with HDCP. The E207WFP should be available soon worldwide with the estimated price of US$289.

BenQ has new 19 inch LCD screen for low-end market. The FP92W delivers a 1440×900 WXGA+ LCD with a 5ms response, 700:1 contrast, 300cd/m2 brightness, and 160-degree top/bottom and 170-degree left/right visibility. 5ms response time is not bad because it also features 2x DVI and D-Sub 15 inputs. The screen will be available in Japan on October 16 for an estimated street price of ¥33,000 or about US$276.

Targeted at design professionals, the Samsung 305T is a 30 inch LCD that boasts 2560 x 1600 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 6ms response time, a 4-port USB hub, and a 178-degree viewing angle. The price is around US$2000. No word on availability yet.

Asus has unleashed its new LCD displays which come in a widescreen (16:10) format. These LCD screens are available in 20 inch and 22 inch, a 1680×1050 resolution, 2ms response time, and the Asus Splendid image improvement system that automatically optimizes image quality for the best visual results. The 2ms response time is compatible with all movie and game freaks. Both the MW201U and PW201 will be the first displays from Asus to come with an HDCP DVI port. In addition, Asus PW201 features an integrated 1.3MP webcam, USB 2.0 ports, composite and S-video ports.
