
Samsung’s latest 55-inch Touch of Color LCD HDTV, the LN55B650, supports 100,000:1 contrast ratio, 1080p resolution, 120Hz, and Medi@2.0 that enables you to receive content over Yahoo! and Flickr directly onto the screen. Sharp is set to release four new energy-saving full HD LCD TVs ‘AQUOS D Series’ that are available in 32-inch, 40-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch models. Some of the features the D Series offers include an advanced new image-improvement technology ‘high-quality master engine’ for increasing the video quality, an internet connection capability, a 15000:1 contrast ratio, a 1920 x 1080 resolution and much more. The 32-inch model is priced at 200,000 Yen, the 40-inch for 250,000 Yen, the 46-inch for 350,000 Yen and the 52-inch for 450,000 yen, all will be available in Japanese Market starting June 10. Loewe’s Art SL is a Full HD LCD display that comes with an Eco Mode to control how energy efficient your TV is. When “automatic light dimming” is activated, the LCD display uses 20% less electricity than the premium mode. The HDTV also uses 0.7 watts of power in standby mode. LG just released its latest LH 80 series of LCD TVs that is currently available in 42-inch, 47-inch and 55-inch models. These LCD TVs feature Full HD wireless capability thanks to a newly developed “Media Box” that also includes the LCD TV tuner, HDMI hub, and a USB port to access JPEG and DIVX video stored on a portable hard drive or flash disk. Sony has added a new HDTV to its BRAVIA television range with the introduction of Z5500 LCD HDTV, which incorporates the Motionflow 200Hz and Image Blur Reduction technology. The Z5500 series is available in 40-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch models, all models features Sony’s BRAVIA engine 3 and comes with the AppliCast that lets you access an exciting range of online services without having to switch on your PC. The LG W2243T is a new 21.5-inch entry-level Full HD LCD with LED backlight. The screen features DVI (HDCP) and D-Sub ports, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 30000:1 dynamic ratio, a brightness level of 300cd/m2 and a view angle of 160/170 degrees. Samsung just released three new 240Hz LED TVs, which are competitor to the LG’s 240Hz LH90 LED TVs. Known as the PAVV 8000, 7000 and 6000 series, these TVs are compatible with YouTube, DLNA, and USB 2.0 port to display both photos and DviX videos from USB flash drives. The Samsung PAVV 8000 series will be available in 46- and 55-inch and will be released in May in the USA, Europe and Southeast Asia. LG has officially announced the price tag for its TruMotion 240Hz LH90 series displays. The LED TV offers a contrast ratio of 200,000:1, THX support and the ability to play DivX files via USB. It will be available in 42, 47 and 55-inch sizes for prices around 3,300,000 Won ($2,445) to 6,400,000 Won ($4,742), depending on the model. Sadly, there’s no word on release dates yet. [Engadget]

Samsung has announced the replacement for the A950 series. The new 46-inch and 55-inch B9000 HDTVs will feature a LED backlight with local dimming, where the LEDs are placed in zones and controlled locally to ensure much higher contrast. Other features include the Medi@2.0, with a Internet function that allows users to access such services as YouTube and Yahoo Widgets.
