Mitsubishi has built a high-definition video screen at a horseracing track in Tokyo which is 218 feet wide and 37 feet tall. The screen now holds the record of the world’s largest HDTV which earlier belonged to the 137 feet large LED screen in Dolphin Stadium, Miami. This giant display uses Mitsubishi’s Aurora Vision LED technology and it costs $28 million.

Panasonic USA launches the world’s largest full HD Plasma display. The plasma TV is 103 Inches wide and supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It has a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a 3.8 Inch pixel pitch. The company will be manufacturing 5000 of these displays annually at its high tech factory in Amagasaki – Japan. Viewsonic launches two new LCD monitors; the 27-inch Viewsonic N2751w and 32-inch Viewsonic N3251w. Both are offer one HDMI input (DVI compatible), 8ms response time, 1366×768 resolution, and 720p / 1080i HD input signals, S/PDIF digital audio outputs, and an integrated digital ATSC tuners. The Viewsonic N2751W has an estimated price of $799 while the Viewsonic N3251W is set at $999. Via HDBeat.
Sima has made it possible to have an outdoor home theater. Within minutes the 8ft screen inflates with an included pump and self-sealing air valves. The screen uses a bright vinyl material and is compatible with either a front or rear projection setup. Sima also throws in a pair of 100w weatherized speakers. The HD-mini is Spectrum’s new small-sized indoor T-HDTV antenna. This mini HDTV antenna enables you to watch T-HDTV with a laptop, PC, and digital TV. Spectrum has been producing antennae for 2 years and was awarded by the Ministry of Information and Communication in Korea for its indoor DTV-antenna last December. LG Electronics proudly introduces its super-large 71-inch Plasma TV, the world’s first and largest commercialized plasma TV. It offers 1080p full high-definition (1920 x 1080) resolution. The special model is not only decorated with 24-K gold, but also offers several package items that include a 600W home theatre system and a terrestrial digital broadcast receiver. Only 1000 units will be sold via exclusive outlets. The gold plated version comes with a $132,000 price tag and the black version will sell for $95,000. Read more review at Newlaunches.

The very well known Sky Sports will be releasing its Sky HD next Wednesday 12th April. Here’s the pricing lay out, £300 for the HD box, and £10 a month on top of the standard Sky digital subscription. Some of HD channels include National Geographic, Sky One, Artsworld, Discovery and Sky Box Office. Via Stuff Magazine.
