
LG Electronics USA today announced the availability of the world’s first THX-certified 3D HDTV, the LG Infinia PX950. Available in 50-inch or 60-inch model, this Plasma HDTV allows users to select THX 2D or 3D Cinema Modes for pristine 2D and 3D movie experiences from broadcast sources and Blu-ray discs. The PX950 plasma HDTV recreates the cinematic viewing experience by setting optimum color temperature, luminance and gamma levels. The PX950 works with the use of active shutter glasses and an emitter built directly into the TV. With 600Hz Max Sub-field Driving, users can enjoy the fastest action sequences in gaming, sports and movies. Measuring at just 2.1-inch, the LG PX950 also supports DLNA, NetCast and the Multi Picture Format (MPF) function, enabling users to connect their 3D cameras to the TV and view their 3D pictures directly on the big screen. Sharp will introduce two models in the new LE925 Series of 3D-compatible AQUOS Quattron 3D LCD TVs with four-primary-color technology, which is based on its proprietary UV2A technology. The new technology adds Y (yellow) to the three RBG (red, blue, green) primary colors, dramatically improving the ability to faithfully reproduce colors. These LCD TVs also provide an impressive 3D images with screen brightness higher than previous models (LE925 Series). The Sony Bravia EX710 is actually an update version from the EX700 series. The new model features a smaller bezel in order to create a more streamlined design and minimalistic look. This HDTV produces a 1920 x 1080p panel, edge-lit LED backlighting, and a Motionflow 120Hz processing. What makes the Sony Bravia EX710 more interesting is that it has a Presence Sensor that will automatically turn off the picture when you leave the room. There are also a zero-watt Energy Saving Switch and an Ambient Sensor that adjust the best brightness level for you. Additional specs include four HDMI inputs, a USB port, and a PC input. Toshiba has unveiled a new LED TV at IFA 2010. Known as the REGZA 42SL738 series, this entry-level LED TV provides a full 1920x1080p HD resolution, allowing viewers to enjoy stunning HD content in maximum detail. The 42-inch LED TV also boasts a refresh rate of 100Hz, a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a USB 2.0 port, an Active Vision M100 that delivers vivid image reproduction and ultra smooth motion, and four HDMI inputs that provide concurrent connectivity with Blu-ray players, high definition set-top boxes, gaming consoles and HDMI-enabled laptops. LG has unveiled more details about the LG LEX8 Nano tech-powered 3D TV. Measuring at just 0.88cm thin, the 3D TV features a 1080p resolution at a 400Hz motion rate, an infinite contrast ratio, a USB 2.0 port (DivX HD, MP3, JPEG, etc.), Picture Wizard II, NetCastTM (Broadband TV), a Magic Motion remote control and invisible speakers (7W+7W). The LG’s Nano Lighting technology is capable of delivering a clearer, smoother picture compared to its competitors. Too bad, there’s no word yet on a US release. [GagdetReview]

Samsung has introduced several new products at IFA 2010 including the 65-inch 8000 series Full HD 3D LED TV, the SP-A8000 3D-capable video projector, the HT-C9950W stainless steel 3D 7.1-channel home theater system, and the BD-C8900 3D BD player/recorder. The Samsung 8000 series features the company latest wave of widgets, DLNA support and Samsung AllShare, while the Samsung BD-C8900 3D BD player/recorder comes with a 500GB of internal hard disk drive. Panasonic has rolled out a new HD LCD Plasma TV, which is known as the Panasonic Viera TX-L32D28BP. As part of the D28 series, the HD LCD Plasma features a 32-inch edge-lit LED TV with a wide 178° viewing angle to ensure clear images even when viewed from an angle. Additional features include Panasonic’s Viera Cast internet platform, Ethernet and Wi-Fi. LG will unveil the LEX8 Nano tech-powered 3D TV at IFA 2010. The display adopts the NANO Lighting Technology, which produces LG’s brightest, clearest and smoothest picture yet. The new LG LEX8 also features an improved localized dimming in both 2D and 3D with its Micro Pixel Control. In addition, this DLNA-ready 3D TV is further enhanced by LG’s TruMotion 400Hz, which delivers super-fast processing rate for moving images making them virtually blur-free. Sony has unveiled the successor to the current NX800. Known as the Sony NX810 BRAVIA, this 3D TV features a built-in Wi-Fi, Edge LED-lit display, widgets and an ambient light sensor. You should use a 3D glasses in order to enjoy 3D goodness. Available in 60-,55-, and 46-inch sizes, the NX810 will be available in September 2010 for $4,700, $3,700, and $3,000, respectively. Each purchase of the new 3D BRAVIA models will receive two free Blu-ray 3D titles and a PlayStation Network voucher enabling 3D BRAVIA purchasers to download stereoscopic 3D gaming experiences on the PS3.
