Logitech today introduced a competitor to the Apple’s Magic Touchpad. Designed for Windows 7-powered computers, the Logitech Wireless Touchpad features multi-touch navigation and gesture-based controls, allowing you to surf the internet in a more fun and natural way. The device connects to the computer via an RF wireless connection. It comes equipped with a tiny Logitech Unifying receiver that enables you to add as much as five other Logitech wireless devices such as a mouse, a keyboard, or a number pad. Samsung today announced its new smart media hub, the SE-208BW optical disk drive (ODD). The device combines an external ODD with a wireless connectivity to provide wider end-user benefits. Offering traditional CD/DVD playback and writing capabilities, the SE-208BW features Samsung’s own APP to enable smartphone, tablet and PC users to wirelessly stream and play CDs and DVDs on their smart devices to listen to music or watch their favorite movies. The SE-208BW drive is also compatible with all major operating systems, including Windows 7 and Mac OS. This external drive provides a variety of speeds across different data media types such as 24X CD-ROM, 24X CD-RW, 8X DVD reading and 8X DVD±R, 5X DVD-RAM, 6X DVD+R Dual Layer, 6X DVD-R Dual Layer, 8X DVD+RW, 6X DVD-RW recording. Scoop Pointer In-air mouse With 6-axis Motion Control

The Scoop Pointer from Hillcrest Labs is a second-generation in-air mouse with 6-axis motion control, which interfaces wirelessly to any PC, Mac, or USB HID compatible device through a USB dongle. This new OEM product is a reference design that will be available in the fourth quarter to companies that need a complete off-the-shelf device for their consumers. It will replace the Loop pointer and includes numerous enhancements, such as a smaller and lighter form factor, new chipset and firmware for lower costs and better performance, nine programmable buttons and a scroll wheel, and full 6-axis control to enable better gesture and game play. There are two versions of the Scoop pointer, one optimized for TV viewing, and one with a red laser pointer designed as a handheld wireless presenter. No word on pricing at this time. Razer has released the BlackWidow Stealth Edition mechanical gaming keyboards. Both the Ultimate and Standard versions of this hardcore mechanical keyboard have been refitted with a keyset that offers tactility but with a quieter feedback for the true silent assassins of gaming. The Ultimate model also supports the company’s extreme anti-ghosting technology, allowing up to six simultaneous key presses on the keyboard. Kenro UK has announced the availability of the Reflecta IMAGEBOX LCD9. This scanner allows you to digitizing slides and negatives. It is equipped with a 9-megapixel area-array sensor, which is claimed to deliver a resolution comparable to a 2400ppi scan from 35mm film. The Reflecta Imagebox can also scan prints of up to 6×4 inches. The unit can be operated independently from a computer, and comes with a dust and scratch removal system for negatives and transparencies that is based on infrared technology. LG LSM-100 Mouse Scanner Combo

The new LG LSM-100 is not an ordinary mouse, because it comes equipped with a built-in scanner. This laser mouse allows you to scan page sizes of up to A3 size. Along with the left, right and back mouse buttons, the LSM-100 also features a Smart Scan button on its left side that, when held down, allows the user to swipe the mouse over the material to be scanned. Scanned images can be saved in PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PDF, XLS or DOC format, or dragged and dropped into the desired application. The LG LSM-100 also adopts the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to convert scanned text into editable text within a Microsoft Word document. Elecom has started selling the MENDO Kandenchi mouse. It is a small wireless mouse that comes in a shape of an “AA” battery. Available in black or white, the mouse is compatible with Linux, Mac, and Windows operation systems. This input device measures 32.5mm x 32.5mm x 53mm and weights at only 32 grams.
