
Sony is about to release its new Quad Full High Definition (QFHD) LCD display for the Japanese market called the TRIMASTER SRM-L560. This new 56-inch widescreen monitor is based on a-SI TI active matrix LCD panel and provides a stunning native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, 10bit RGB LED backlight and 170/170 degrees viewing angle. The monitor also supports various display modes including 4K/QFHD mode (4096 x 2160 or 3840 x 2160), Quad View mode (2048 x 1080, 1920 x 1080 etc), 2K/HD Zoom mode (2048 x 1080, 1920 x 1080 etc) and Native Scan mode with shift function for side cut images. In terms of connectivity ports, it offers four DVI-D, four HDMI and an Ethernet Lan. The Sony TRIMASTER SRM-L560 will hit Japan starting on November 1st for 6,825,000 Yen (about $77,345). LG Electronics is back with its new LCD Monitor for the Russian market called the W1930S. This 18.5-inch widescreen monitor offers a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, 250 cd/m2 brightness, 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 5ms response time and 160/170 degrees viewing angle. Toshiba has unveiled its first cell-powered LCD TV ‘Cell Regza 55X1′ for the Japanese market. This new 55-inch widescreen TV uses the same Cell Technology as found in the Sony PS3 for delivering outstanding picture quality. It also offers a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 240Hz scanning, 1,250 cd/m2 brightness, 5,000,000 contrast ratio, an internet browser made by Opera Software, DLNA support, a 7-speaker sound bar, an SD card slot, HDMI and USB ports and a tuner box that includes a 3TB of storage space, with 2TB of that is dedicated to time-shift recording (recording up to 26 hours of programs for up to eight channels). Philips has introduced the latest addition to its LCD monitor range by releasing the Brilliance 225P1ES. This new 22-inch widescreen monitor offers a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels, 5ms response time, 250 cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, built-in two 1.5W speakers, plus D-Sub, DVI and USB connectors. DoubleSight Displays has rolled out a new series of Smart USB monitors which include the 7-Inch DS-70U, 9-Inch DS-90U and 9-inch DS-90UC. The DS-70U offers a native resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, 30ms response time, 375 cd/m2 brightness and 350:1 contrast ratio. Followed by the DS-90U which provides a native resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, 30ms response time, 200 cd/m2 brightness and 300:1 contrast ratio. And finally the DS-90UC that features the exact same specs found in DS-90U model but with a detachable webcam. Sharp Japan has announced their LX series of LED TV that is currently available in 40, 42, 52 and 60-inch models. The LED panel provides a full HD resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels, a contrast ratio of 200,0000:1, a 176 degree viewing angle and a white LED backlit which consumes 30% less power. Additional features include a six speaker sound system which delivers 2.1 channel sound, Analog / Digital TV tuner, Ethernet port and three HDMI ports. Hyundai has added two new Full HD Monitors to its range in the form of the V226Wa and V236Wd. These widescreen monitors provide a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 5ms response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness and 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The main differences between the two LCDs are: the V226Wa only comes with 1W speakers and a D-Sub connector, while the V236Wd offers 1.5W speakers and both D-Sub and DVI ports. Alphascan will launch a couple of new 16:9 HD monitors ‘Femme Crystal’ in the South Korean market. The 24-inch model ‘Femme Crystal P241DHS’ features 60000:1 contrast ratio, 2ms response time, HDMI port and built-in speaker, meanwhile the 21.5-inch model ‘Femme Crystal P221D’ supports 50000:1 contrast ratio and 5ms response time. Dell has finally released the Ultrasharp U2410 and ST2410 LCD monitors in the US market. The Dell U2410 adopts an IPS panel, providing 96% coverage of the Adobe RGB color space and 100% coverage of the sRGB color space. It also supports a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 resolution, a 6ms response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 400 cd/m2 brightness and comes with several connectivity ports including VGA, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort and four USB ports. A budget alternative, the ST2410, is also new and uses a less color-rich TN (twisted nematic) panel as well as a lower 50,000:1 contrast ratio.
