Philips 17 Inch TFT LCD With 8ms Response Time

Philips launched its new 17 inch TFT-LCD monitor with a fast 8ms response time. The LCD screen views SXGA 1280 x 1024 pixels resolution for sharpher display. It also features sRGB that ensures color matching between display and printouts. No word on pricing and availability yet.

Daysis DS201W 20.1 inch Widescreen LCD

Daysis, the Korean manufacturer, will launch Daysis DS201W 20.1 inch widescreen LCD that features a ratio of 16:10 and a screen resolution of 1680×1050. The contrast ratio on this screen will be of 800:1 with a brightness of 300cd/m2 and 12ms response time. Other features include VGA, DVI, and Audio-in ports. Unfortunately, this display is only available in Korea. The price is around $300.

Samsung’s 3 Inch Viewfinder LCD

Samsung has developed the world’s first 3 inch 640 x 480 LCD display for digital cameras. The LCD screen offers 260,000 colors, 350:1 contrast ratio, and a brightness of 300cdpm². Samsung expects to put the screen into production in H1 2007.

Buffalo Japan has launched the FTD-W924ADSR/SV, a 19 inch widescreen LCD with a 16:10 aspect ratio. It produces 1,440×900 pixel resolution, a contrast ratio of 800 : 1, and a 5ms response time. The widescreen LCD will be available this month in Japan.

Sony Develops Wide Display LCD Screen for Mobile Phone

Sony Corporation and Sony Ericsson are working together to create a new graphic engine called “RealityMAX” with a 16:9 ratio LCD screen. Measuring 40.2 mm x 70.7 mm x 1.75 mm, this wide screen LCD features a low temperature polysilicon TFT liquid crystal display modules. With a resolution of 240 x 432 pixels, Sony plans to complete the product with 256k colors output and up to 160 degree of viewing angle. We can expect to see a wide screen Sony Ericsson mobile phone in the future.

Mitsubishi Japan released the AA043MA01 which is a 4.3 Inch TFT-LCD display for use in Portable devices. Measuring 103 mm ×67.5 mm ×5.3 mm, the LCD screen supports a resolution of 800 x 480 with a contrast ratio of 500:1 and brightness of 200cd/m2. The display supports 16 million colors with a visibility of 110 degrees from the top or bottom and 130 degrees from the left or right. It goes on sale this August 2006 with the price of 21,000 Yen or about $ 180.
