Measuring 168mm x 57.5mm x 197.71mm and weighing just 1.1kg, this new portable drive makes use of both the LightScribe (disc labeling) and SmartErase (data erase) technologies. Apart from that, the drive also features a USB 2.0 connection interface, a 2MB of buffer memory and provides write speeds of up to 24x for DVD+R/-R, 12x for DVD-RAM and DVD+R/-R DL, 8x for DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW. Here is good news for Archos 5 Internet Tablet owners, because Archos has released a new firmware update 1.3.07. The new firmware update offers some improvements and fixes including improved support for MP4 and MKV videos, fixed playback resolution issues, and fixed support for full screen playback of YouTube and YouTube HD content.
