NEC today released two spanking new DLP projectors, the NP41 and NP61, with 2300 and 3000 lumens, respectively. Weighing at 3.5 pounds, these portable projectors feature 1600:1 contrast ratio, XGA 1024×768 resolution, “BrilliantColor” technology, AutoSense, 15-pin RGB, RCA, S-Video input connectors and audio input, HD compatibility, ECO Mode technology and quiet operation at less than 32dB. Sanyo has unveiled its new ultra-short throw projector ‘PLC-XL50 XGA’ in Korea. The PLC-XL50 is touted as having the world’s shortest throw distance. In point of fact, it can display an 80″ diagonal 4:3 image from a mere 3″ away from the screen.
