Amazon has begun taking pre-orders for 3M’s newest pocket projector ‘MP160‘ via its online store. To refresh your memory, this compact and lightweight projector is able to produce images up to 80-inches with a native resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. What’s more, it also provides 30 ANSI lumens brightness and up to 20,000 hours of LED lamp life. Other interesting features worth mentioning include two integrated, three-quarter watt stereo speakers, an AV port, a Composite port and a VGA port. The 3M MP160 can be yours for $359. JVC has rolled out a couple of new D-ILA projectors in the form of the DLA-X7 and the DLA-X3. Both models feature a 1300 Lumens brightness, a Full HD resolution and two HDMI 1.4a ports. Priced at 840,000 Yen ($10,398), the JVC DLA-X7 has a 70,000:1 contrast ratio and produces a perfect color reproduction by covering 100% of Adobe RGB color palette. The JVC DLA-X3 comes with only a 50,000:1 contrast ratio. The JVC DLA-X7 and JVC DLA-X3 will be released in December 2010. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing for the JVC DLA-X3. AAXA Technologies has begun taking pre-orders for their upcoming micro projector, the M1 Ultimate. Dubbed as the brightest ‘ultra-portable’ projector in its class, the M1 Ultimate is able to deliver 800 x 600 native resolution, 75 ANSI lumens brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio and up to 15,000 hours of lamp life. What’s more, it also comes with a 1GB of internal memory, an SD card slot (up to 8GB), 1W stereo speakers, an A/V input port, a 3.5mm headset jack and a miniUSB port. Dukane hits back by unveiling their newest projector, the ImagePro 8788. Aimed at educational market, this new projector adopts the company’s latest 3LCD display technology and provides 1024 x 768 native resolution, 2,200 ANSI lumens brightness, 500:1 contrast ratio and up to 4,000 hours of lamp life. In terms of connectivity ports, it comes with component, composite, S-video, D-Sub and Stereo Mini Jack. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [AboutProjectors]

What makes the Micron V100 LCOS compact projector special is that its small size. Measuring only 33mm x 31mm x 12mm, this LCOS projector also comes with a low 1.5W power consumption as well as an integrated image engine that takes care of all the processing needed in order to project images without taxing your phone’s CPU. The V100 LCOS provides a small 320×240 resolution and a 5 Lumens of brightness. This new projector adopts the company’s HPX (hexagonal pixel multiplication) technology, which should increase the number of pixel per inch with about 20% compared to traditional square pixels, leading to much smoother diagonal lines. Abel has begun shipping their newest pico projector ‘USB Mini Projector’ in the US via Amazon. Measuring only 88mm x 21mm x 55mm and weighing just 80g, this LCoS-based projector is able to project images up to 50-inches with a native resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Not only that, it also provides 16:9 aspect ratio and 10 ANSI Lumens brightness, and comes with a built-in audio speaker and a USB 2.0 connection interface. Epson’s VS200 is an affordable projector that comes equipped with 2,300 lumens of output, the ability to work with just a USB cable connection, a 800 x 600 pixel resolution (SVGA) and a 4:3 aspect ratio. Priced at only $429 a pop, the projector measures 3-inch x 12-inch x 9-inch and weights 5.1 pounds. The Epson VS200 will be available in October 2010 and comes with a one-year limited warranty that includes two elite technical support services – Epson PrivateLine® phone support where projector owners can directly access an expedited support telephone line by using a phone card that is included with the product, and a Road Service projector replacement program that includes projector exchange in two business days. Acer has rolled out the C20 pico projector that measures 118mm x 60.8mm x 18.6mm and weights at just 166 grams. This ultra-portable projector projects images at 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution with a 2,000:1 contrast ratio. The Acer C20 uses a LED bulb with a lifetime of up to 20,000-hour, and can easily be connected to a laptop, cell phone or camcorder via a built-in USB and HDMI ports. This high performance projector delivers 1920 x 1200 native resolution, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 8000 ANSI lumens brightness and consumes 33% less energy than competing products.
