Lockheed Martin introduces the HULC exoskeleton, which is actually an un-tethered, hydraulic-powered anthropomorphic exoskeleton that provides users with the ability to carry loads of up to 200 lbs for extended periods of time and over all terrains. The exoskeleton is flexible enough to be used in various positions. Its power-saving design allows the user to operate on battery power for extended missions. Robotic Crawler

Set to go into service in Yokohama fire department, this unnamed robotic crawler is designed to carry a 110 kilogram person from the disaster zone to safety in case of an earthquake. It has four wheel belts and can easily move over difficult terrain. The crawler will also monitor the patient’s blood flow and other vital signs during evacuations. I-Shovel

I-Shovel is a smart Robotic Snow Shovel that cleans snow on the driveway in short periodic intervals keeping it clean and ready to use. Its patent-pending technology allows the robot to detect snow accumulation and determine the perimeter of the area to be shoveled. Once it determines the area has received enough snow, the bot goes to work. An onboard battery keeps it shoveling for about 4,000 square feet, which would cover the average driveway at least 4 times. Here’s a smart little assistant robot ‘Mamoru’ that will help the elderly or disabled remember where they left their remote control or their slippers, and even offers polite reminders when it’s time to take some medicine. Designed by the University of Tokyo, one of Japan’s leading robot developers, this prototype elder-care bot uses a wide-angle camera to keep track of the room, and image recognition software to tell what each object is.
