
ORICO has rolled out a new line of SSDs called the HS-01 Series. Coming in four different shell designs, these 2.5-inch 256GB SSDs are equipped with 25nm MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a SandForce SF-2281 controller and capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 350MB/s, respectively. Toshiba has proudly introduced the new Exceria high-performance SDXC and SDHC memory cards. These new products will be launched in three series, Exceria Type 1, Type 2 and Type HD. The Type 1 series use new controllers that offer a maximum read speed of 95 megabytes (MB)/sec and a write speed of 90MB/sec, while Type 2 series products have a maximum read speed of 95MB/sec and a write speed of 60MB/sec. And finally, Type HD products provide a maximum read speed of 90MB/sec and a write speed of 30MB/sec. Coming in two special urban themes: New York landmarks and romantic Paris city, these waterproof, dustproof and shockproof flash drives feature a 360-degree swivel capless design, a USB 2.0 connection interface and are available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities. Elgato has decided to enter the storage market by releasing its new Thunderbolt SSD. It is a solid-state drive designed for use with Macs equipped with a high-speed Thunderbolt connector. In case you didn’t know, the Thunderbolt interface can provide up to 10Gbps of data throughput. The company claims that the Thunderbolt SSD is capable of reading data at a rate of 270MBps. Seagate has added a new storage capacity to its FreeAgent GoFlex Slim portable hard drive line-up by announcing the 500GB model. Western Digital has finally released the S25 SAS hard drives. Available in 300GB, 450GB, 600GB and 900GB of storage capacities, these internal hard disk drives are based on SAS 6GB/s interface and deliver 204 MB/s transfer rates. The Western Digital S25 SAS hard drives support T10 Protection Information (PI) and drive-level self-encryption. This 2.5-inch SAS drive also requires less than 8 watts to operate.
