NeuroStar TMS Therapy System Cures Depression With Magnetic Field Pulses

This NeuroStar TMS Therapy System looks like a dentist chair, but it is actually designed to cure depression. The patient sits in a chair as an electromagnetic coil pulses magnetic fields to the patient’s left prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that regulates mood and stimulates neurons to make more mood-enhancing dopamine. Each treatment session lasts approximately 37 minutes. The NeuroStar TMS Therapy System will be the first TMS therapy to earn FDA approval. [NeuroStar]

Electroluminiscent Wires

The Electroluminescent wires (EL wires) are actually thin chopper wires coated with the phosphor, which produce a 360 degree unbroken line of visible light when an AC current is applied to them. These wires are very flexible and have very thin diameter, which make them suitable to be sewn onto clothes or fitted on any surface. Watch the video after the jump to get more details. Read more

Magic Stone Phone

Designer Aleksandr Mukomelov has created the Magic Stone phone that comes in a shaped of a diamond. Its casing is covered with a “nano material” converting the sunlight into the energy your phone needs to function. The phone can also be charged wirelessly with electromagnetic fields. Other features include a touch-screen, a holographic display, constant internet access, storage space, and some games. What makes this concept cool is that it has a holograph projector (ala Star Wars) created by a series of lasers. Read more
