Funai (Sylvania, Symphonic, Emerson) is planning to sell LCD TVs with integrated Blu-ray Disc players in the US next summer. Currently 20% of all Funai TV sales in the US are based on TV/DVD player combos. Funai is likely to offer midsize and large screens with integrated Blu-ray players, both at Wal-Mart and electronics stores. Details are scarce at this point but a planned 42-inch LCD TV/Blu-ray combo, for example, is said to be priced between $1,100 and $1,300, which may not be too competitive considering it is another year from now. Samsung has now announced budget version of its earlier Blu-ray Home Theatre System. HT-BD2E comes with 5.1 Channel System, 800 watts of total power. It has four satellite speakers, one center speaker and a passive subwoofer. Priced at $800, at almost half their first Blu-ray Home Theatre System HT-BD2T. Expected to ship in August. [BLU-RAY]

Pioneer will be dropping several Blu-ray players in Europes. The first being the 2.0-compliant BDP-LX91, Designer BDP-LX08 and BDP-LX71 and the BDP-51FD. All feature 1080p24 support, HDMI 12-Bit Deep Color support, KURO LINK, DTS-HD Master Audio / Dolby True HD compatibility and professional-quality Wolfson Digital Audio Converters (DACs). Ni word on prices for any of them. However, the BDP-LX71 is said to drop in September, the BDP-51FD / BDP-LX08 in October and the BDP-LX91 sometime in the Winter. [Engadget]

Green House will be dropping a DVD player known as the (GH-DV100S) at the end of June. The player can read DVD/CD/DVD ±R/RW and CD-R/RW and will be available for about 25€. [Akihabara]

Toshiba will be releasing a DVD player featuring HDMI output the end of June called the SD-590J. The DVD player can show an image in 1080p, uses 192kHz/24-bit audio DACs and 54 MHz/14-Bit Video DAC, and can read MP3/WMA audio files and DivX files, and a JPEG image. Good news for people who can’t get enough of Netflix, the new Netflix player has just been released. You can now enjoy movies and TV shows (with Netflix’s library) on your TV. Pioneer is launching a new combo DVD Player/5.1 Surround System called the HTZ-373DV. The HTZ-373DV features a HDMI output in 1080p, can decode Dolby NR Digital, Dolby NR Professional Logic II, and DTS formats, and has support for MP3 and WMA files along with five 60W surround speakers, one 60W subwoofer, and one 30W central speaker.
