Nikko has launched an improvement over the R2-D2 DVD projector. It now projects a 260″ image onto your screen or wall compared to the 80″. The projector also features 1,800 lumens brightness, 1,800:1 contrast ratio, iPod dock, memory card slot, USB port, integrated surround sound 20W speaker system, FM transmitter, and a Millennium Falcon remote control. Hanton has showcased its in-dash car DVD player called the HT-430 during China Sourcing Fairs at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. The HT430 features a 4.3-ich 16:9 wide touchscreen, is compatible with DVD/CD/VCD/MP3/MPEG4, has a built-in GPS function, bluetooth, built-in TV and AM/FM radio tuner. The Loewe BluTech Vision Blu-ray player is the latest Blu-ray players and here’s what Trusted Reviews says about it: “If you’re looking for visual decadence then no-one does it quite like Loewe, and the BluTech Vision is yet another addition to its impressive portfolio of eye-catching kit. It’ll make a stylish addition to your system, particularly if that system is made up of matching Loewe kit, but despite its seductive exterior we’re not enamoured by what’s under the hood – the profile 1.0 specification and limited hi-res audio support are bad enough, but the poor multimedia compatibility, sluggish interface and patchy performance rub salt in the wound, particularly at this price. You’re better off buying the Panasonic DMP-BD30, which is a cheaper and more talented player that gets you many more features and Profile 1.1 capabilities into the bargain.” Not sure where this is selling, but the BluTech Vision Blu-ray player is going for £795.00. Philips has just released the new DCP951 DVD player. The DCP951 has support for DVD along with support for DVD +/-R and DVD +/-RW, VCD, DivX, and MPEG4 movies. The DVD player doubles as an iPod touch dock,so you can view and charge at ease. The DCP951 also has an SD/MMC memory card slot to view short movies and digital photos files and has a 9″ LCD display. RED will dropping a new disc drive based on blu-ray called the RED RAY optical disk drive. It features 4K video from the RED ONE, 3K video from the Scarlet and HD formats from RED Disc and RED Express media, along with R3D RAW files from CompactFlash.
