ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 Graphics Card

AMD (ATI) has recently launched its newest ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, which dubbed to be the fastest graphics card ever made, with 2.4 teraFLOPS of processing power. Currently Nvidia’s RSX GPU found in the PS3 delivers performance of 1.8 teraFLOPS, while ATI’s chip in the Xbox 360 delivers 1.0 teraFLOPS. AMD achieved this performance by combining two ATI Radeon HD 4800 series GPUs into a single card, with a whopping 2GB of onboard memory. The ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 will be available with MSRP $549. A cheaper, less powerful model, the ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2, will be available in September for approximately $399. [Joystiq]
