Thomson claims their Thomson A1 to be the world’s smallest PMP with a 3-inch screen. Its display screen is a 16:9 high-definition TFT screen in a stainless steel unit measuring 82mm x 50.9mm x 13mm and weighing about 87grams. The A1 is compatible with AVI (24fps), MP3, WMA and WAV audio, and views JPG and BMP images. There is also an FM tuner with recording capability. The suggested price tag for the Thomson A1 is approx. $111 for the 4GB and around $125 for the 8GB. China will get it first, with Europe hopefully to follow. However, no word on when the gadget will be available in the States.
