
Nextar today officially announced two new GPS units in its SNAP family. Dubbed as the SNAP5 and SNAP7, the former has a 5-inch touch panel and the latter comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display. Both navigation gadgets measure at only 0.7-inches thick and come equipped with stereo speakers, text-to-speech support, US / Canada Tele Atlas maps, an SD card slot, a built-in MP3 player / JPEG viewer, 2D / 3D map viewing modes, a rechargeable Li-ion battery and a magnetic docking station. The Nextar SNAP5 and SNAP7 will be released in the US market in Spring 2009 for $299.99 and $349.99, respectively. [Engadget]
