Magellan will release its new handheld GPS, the eXplorist 500 LE, to the market soon. The device features 2.3 inch diagonal high-resolution colors LCD display with backlit for night view, SD card slot for extra storage, 14 parallel channel GPS capability, and WAAS/EGNOS-enabled. It requires Lithium-Ion batteries or AAA batteries, and able to load GPS coordinates directly from the Internet. It measures 4.6 inches x 2.1inches x 1.3 inches and weighs less than 4 ounces. No words on pricing and availability yet.
