Verizon Wireless Launches Shock and WaterProof Phone

Verizon Wireless and UTStarcom announced the online availability of the Verizon Wireless G’zOne Type-V that was built to resist harsh weather conditions and is compliant to multiple Military Standards including exposure to temperatures in excess of 140F, extreme vibration, solar radiation, conditions set to simulate storm conditions of two inches of rainfall per hour with high winds and submersion in one meter of water. The handset features a 2.0MP digital camera, 15-second FLIX videos, speakerphone and voice activated dialing. It also comes equipped with IM for AOL, Yahoo! and MSN. This CDMA2000 1 X EV-DO, 800/1900 MHz-band compatible G’zOne Type-V is available online at Verizonwireless for US$299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. The phone will be available in Verizon Wireless stores on October 23, 2006.
