Wi-Fi Camera Wins a CES Prize

Eye-Fi Inc.’s wireless card beat nine other contestants for the top spot in the Last Gadget Standing session, a CES contest staged by Yahoo Inc.’s technology section. The winner was determined by the volume of audience applause. The $100 Eye-Fi card has 2 gigabytes of memory, uses Wi-Fi to zap pictures to computers and photo-sharing Web sites. Eye-Fi’s other competitors include: the Asus Eee PC, the LG Voyager, Dash Express GPS device, Sansa TakeTV (similar to Tivo), iRobot’s iLooj, Toshiba’s TDP-EW25U a wireless DLP projector, Electric Spin’s Golf LaunchPad, The Fujitsu u810, and the Logitech diNovo Mini Keyboard.
